DCBS Bass Drum Clip

I'm using this on my bass drum. It didn't do much so I added a small piece of felt underneath. Works great, nice tight sound without losing tone.

These things did not modify the sound of my drums. They appear to work in the demo videos but, this is not case for me.However, they are handy for holding other "muffling" things -- like the drum tortillas -- on the drums. And that's what I'm using them for.There are other ways to do that, but, since I bought them and they're really easy to attach and remove, I'm going to use them for that.

Not quite enough pressure to really do the job. I guess if you bought a bunch of these and put them all around your bass head it would work. I can see where they will dampen or deaden the sound, make it nice and tight, but one clip will not do enough. Your going to have to get several. I have a pillow in my bass drum and one clip I cant tell a difference in sound, but I can tell it is pushing on the head some, just need more of it.

I am using 4 of these to hold a standard 16" drum mute with a 16" piece of cardboard underneath it to a 16" bass drum. Much better mute than the thicker bass drum specific mutes. For my purpose, these clips work great. Easily removed to go "live" and leave no marks. As for their intended use, I have not tried them because I love the bass drum sound I get from loosely filling a bass drum with loosely crumbled newspaper. Never needed anything else.

What's great about these mufflers is that in stead of changing heads to get aopen or dampened tome, you just adjust this. It is very effective.

It fit the rim just fine, but the muting part of the clip sits at an angle to the face of the head -- so only the inner-most 1/4" actually touches the head, and has no effect on head ringing.

Fits great, though I am having a hard time recognizing much difference in dampening with it on and off -- the head is slightly pitched up though when it is on, due to the extra pressure, so you might wanna tune after placing it rather than before, if you're picky about your tuning..

I have always used a pillow inside my bass drum but wanted to try and get away from that. I put this clip on the front resonant head and a Evans Beater head on and the bass drum sounded great - it was the sound I was looking for. Took out the unwanted overtones but didn't make the drum sound too dead. I have now eliminated putting a pillow inside my bass drum.
