Dorman 594-191 Engine Harmonic Balancer Compatible with Select Models

Had an oil leak at the front main seal and there was a groove worn in on my old harmonic balancer (178k miles). Replaced the seal and harmonic balancer and no leaks after 2k miles. For $45 it was good insurance to just buy a new balancer than try and put a sleeve on the shaft or blend out the groove on the old balancer.Installed on my 2003 Dodge Dakota 4.7L engine.

Installed on a 4.7 HO and it works fine. The HO uses a different balancer than the normal 4.7 but this one performs just as well or better! Just know you will need a large 3 jaw puller that can be inverted to remove the old "HO" balancer. Trying to use hacks that may work on a regular 4.7 balancer will just result in a dented radiator, damaged crankshaft threading, etc. Theres only one proper way to do it! Go to auto zone and rent it for free, $180 deposit.

I received it on time, I installed it this morning, i have not ran the Engine yet. This was for a 2001 Dodge Dakota 4.7. my old balancer the rubber parts of it was missing not too bad and I could not find a fix-it sleeve due to wear the oil seal sets , so it was decided to buy it due to I spent $3,000 on a re manufactured Engine and I don't want oil leaks. I'm happy!

It's the same part offered at Autozone (and nearly any other local parts store), it's just half the price. I purchased it from Amazon for around $45 (with free 2 day prime shipping), instead of $90 at the store. There is no vibration when the truck is running... so if it doesn't rust off the crankshaft, it was an excellent buy.

The damper is made as good if not better than the oem version at a fraction of the price.
