Enjoying this SO much! Empowering.
Savers gonna save and that's who I am and have been. But here I am mid 50's and no idea if I have saved enough. Wasn't I supposed to do some traveling by now? How do you know when you've saved enough and whether it's okay to start spending a bit more? I'm about half way through this journal and it's been eye opening and really empowering. Once you assign some guilt free spending, you don't have to fret if you go out to dinner and order the onion rings. Who knew? It's not about numbers or budgets (which I LOVE) but more about mindset and reassuring yourself that you are on the right track. Maybe exploring some little tweaks. I currently budget with YNAB and already read Ramit's other book, so this was a great self-paced way to really explore where I am now and where I want to go. Highly recommend! It's FUN!

Lots of journal prompts!
I first read Ramit Sethi's book years ago, and I still use some of his advice about managing money. This journal is interesting, because it has a little bit of a different focus, where it's not just about limiting spending and saving money, but it's also about figuring out your values related to money and how to prioritize your spending. Each chapter has a LOT of journal prompts, and they get you to think about the topic from several different angles. It's made me think about my ideas around money that I don't usually take the time to sit around and think about, and it's brought up some interesting discussions with friends and family members. The book is nice, and there is a lot of space to write in it, though I decided to write my answers in a separate notebook, because I could see myself doing the journal questions again in another 5 years to see how my priorities might shift as I get older. As some people noted, the corners of the book were a little bit bent, but I didn't think it was a big deal. And the shipping was very fast.

The content is fantastic, the damaged cover is disappointing
The book content is really good and it makes it easy to walk through the strategies that Ramit teaches in his book. I will enjoy walking through the processes to work through a lot about my money mindset to work toward a rich life. That said, I am so glad that I didn't order this as a gift for someone else because of the damage to the cover. All 4 corners are heavily damaged and it's not going to stand up to a lot of handling. I will likely create a cover for it so that I can get through it without the cover being a problem. The band that wrapped around the outside - I wouldn't call it a book jacket because it was just a wide strip - was taped to the inside with heavy duty circles that tore the inside cover. That doesn't really affect the book itself beyond just being disappointing.
