Organic Light Dried Malt Extract DME - Maltoferm 10001-1 Lb

Delicious! Using mainly for hot drinks or on yogurt, but many great ways to use it.

I purchased a bag of Dry Light Malt Extract in order to cultivate oyster and Wine Cap mushroom spawn for culinary use and I had heard a lot of recommendations to use LME in order to grow cultures and decided to buy this product on account of its good price and other reviews. The order itself came in days sooner than the original shipping date which was a plus. Upon opening the package there was a hole in the bag where it was heat sealed allowing LME to leak into the package and also get contaminated. Although this was a setback the customer service immediately reached out within the hour of the reported damage to inform me that a new bag of LME was being sent to me. I would have been fine with a refund but they went out of their way to send me a new one that arrived in the same timeframe as the original package, and this tome the bag had been wrapped and protected. I had tested it and it turned out perfect for the project, I am more than satisfied with how the LME turned out and I will be ordering in the future. Tl;Dr: Company was very quick to ship a good product, and even quicker to send a replacement.

If you use it, may need to strain your liquid. But then wonder how much nutrition you just removed.

Cutting to the chase, for mycology purposes, this stuff has worked well as LME for Agar media mix. I recently ordered a bag getting back into the practice after not have been cultivating in over 2 years and the bag came opened and hardened because it was exposed to air and this stuff will go rock hard ( giggity ) if exposed to air for to long. good product, poor shipping. had to order another and have fingers crossed this one shows up undamaged. EDIT (5/19/24) this seller made good on the next order and ensured the package was properly packaged and protected with the last order! 10/10 will be continuing to order from this user!

Is what it says it is. Perfect for mycology when making liquid culture. The darker type of malt extract will carmelize during sterilization and be useless for mycology.

Got for mushroom cultivation to make AGAR plates and Liquid culture. Works great for both. Great function for my needs and high quality product. Will buy again.
