I bought these in attempt to get a nice cedar small in my closet.... I don't want to give this product a poor review because I didn't use the product for what I think is the intended purpose-- to keep the bugs away.I would not recommend this product if you're just looking for a cedar smell in your closet. I even put two in one of my drawers and it doesn't smell like cedar.

Super Sticky Residue on Metal Hooks
I didn't get to try these, because there was what I'm guessing very old cedar oil on the metal hooks of the hangers, and they were extremely sticky. Sadly, I wasn't able to wash away the sticky residue with either soap or other oils, so these have to be returned. I hope the owner can comment here soon that this situation has been addressed so my review can be removed--in the meantime, if you order soon, you may get this as well as I noticed someone else left the same review 2 days ago. I was excited about these as they looked to be all natural. :/

Great bug repellant for our walk-in closet.
Yes, cedar hangars are great for our closet to help keep bugs at bay. May order again since our closet is fairly large. I did briefly sand each hangar when they arrived to provide maximum protection.

Hanging cedar is handy
Love the cedar scent right out of the package. Needs periodic sanding or 'recharging' with liquid scent. Hanger is sturdy. Cedar blocks are actually attractive.

Not a lot of cedar smell. Helps if you sand them lightly before hanging. I think i will need to sand them frequently to get that great cedar smell. I am using them in my coat closet.

No mothball smell
Excellent for storing wool coats on hangers in garment bag. Scattering some block without wire hanger for smaller items in drawers.All this without the mothball odor!

you may do better with thicker cedar for the price
Blocks are thin, you may do better with thicker cedar for the price.
