Works perfectly with my Roccbox
I’d purchased the Roccbox (which works via gas power) but had really wanted to be able to cook and enjoy wood fired pizzas so this was a must buy addition for me.I’m so glad I bought it!Wood fired pizzas really do taste the best and also is much simpler to use than gas. This wood burner attaches really easily to the Roccbox (but there is a booklet with illustrations for those that require a little direction) and was ready to use within minutes of unpacking it.We found that it did take a little while to heat up initially, but it’s really just a case of ensuring that you’re not attempting to use it in windy weather and that you use the correct number of wood pellets/kindling for it to fire up and stay alight successfully for cooking.Once heated up to the optimum temperature we found it cooked the pizzas extremely quickly and of course gave that lovely wood fired taste. It really does taste so much better!I’d recommend this wood burner if like me you prefer the taste of pizzas cooked this way and feel less confident with using gas appliances. It’s worth the cost.

Takes longer
Works ok but takes much longer to heat the pizza stone.

Terrible product
Roccbox won’t reach the right temperature to cook Neapolitan pizzas with this. Just use gas instead.

Love the choice between wood or gas
I love being able to attach this and cook without propane. Yes it does take a while for it to reach 600 but I knew that when purchasing. I use the roccbox for all types of cooking, and I can get this to 400 in about 15-20 minutes. It’s great to have the choice.

Awesome
So, I love my Roccbox. This is a fun alternative if you have the extra time to build the fire, it gives the pizza that great wood smoke.

Nice addition to a great little oven
The media could not be loaded. First off, love the Roccbox. Like most reviews here, the wood burner has its pluses and minuses. What I did was use the gas burner to bring the oven up to full 900° temperature. While that was happening, I started the wood in the hopper. Once I got a decent bed of embers, I disconnected the gas (no gloves needed), attached the wood burner housing (no gloves needed), then inserted the hopper. I practiced several times removing the gas and attaching the hopper to a cold oven! The temperature eventually settled into the 550° range. Between pizzas (I made 6), I fed the hopper two to three 5" pieces of hardwood (oak). Although the cook time was longer, about 4+ minutes, the oven was more forgiving, ie less charring. I'd recommend. The pizzas were great and it was fun. BTW, I have another video and several photos for those interested.

Built to last, commercial grade, heavy-duty, substantially improved vs original version!
This is a really well-built wood burner and I'm overly impressed with it. Now, the important part - you need a Roccbox pizza oven to use this burner, it's not a standalone unit. It's an optional wood burner attachment to get more natural flavors into your pizzas when cooking with a Roccbox pizza oven. I've seen bad reviews only because people did not read the description and ordered this thing thinking they are getting the whole oven. Don't make this mistake!I don't have the oven yet, but I plan on getting it soon and decided to order this burner right away as I'm a big fan of wood and charcoal cooking vs gas. And I like to have an option to use gas (when I'm lazy) or wood (when I want to be "creative"). This wooden burner is built to last for a lifetime, it is heavy and sturdy, made of heavy gauge stainless steel, not flimsy at all. Its finish is dull matte non-reflective, it's not painted or anything, I believe it's bead blasting finish. It looks really good and it's fingertip resistant, which is a big plus. I tried burning some wood in it for testing and it takes some time to heat it up (around 15-20 mins to get to around 400F) and it stays hot for a while after burning has stopped. This tells a lot about its heat capacity. This is the new model 2.0 that has just come out and it's bigger than its predecessor and has a large door opening for easier loading of wood pieces. The ashtray is large and can hold a substantial amount of wood which helps it reach higher temperatures quicker compared to the original model. It can be removed and emptied with ease and comes with a steel handle that you are supposed to use to pull out the ashtray as it's too hot to handle with bare hands. This really looks like an industrial grade device.*** TL;DR ***If you, like me, love the taste of pizza made this way and don't like using gas appliances, I totally recommend this wood burner. It's very well built from heavy gauge stainless steel, very sturdy, and has a very nice bead blasting finish. On top of it, it's a new updated version of this burner that incorporates feedback from users and has a number of substantial improvements over the original model. It's worth every cent! Solid 5 stars.+++ Pros +++1) Very well built from heavy gauge stainless steel.2) Very sturdy and rigid.3) Has a very nice bead blasting finish.4) Substantially improved version vs original model.5) Larger door and ashtray.6) Larger volume.--- Cons ---1) Requires Roccbox pizza oven ;).

Much better than 1.0
This is the wood burner that should have come with the original Roccbox. I used 1.0 only once as it was terrible. This is a great improvement over the original. Understand that you'll be needing to either order or cut yourself some hardwood that fits into the chamber. I cut it myself without too much difficulty. It does not get as hot as the propane attachment but I do like the wood option. I was hoping it would add more wood flavor but at the higher temps this runs at wood smoke flavor is not easy to come by. It's not like a smoker. I'm alright with the lower temps this produces because I am less apt to burn my crust and I'm never in a rush to bake the pizzas. It is very solidly built and you can tell by the weight of it. I'm very happy with this burner.
