You get what you pay for I guess. I didn't pay attention to the fact that this is "smelt" quartz when I bought it for a friend. And upon examination when it arrives I noticed dozens of air bubbles inside the sphere and a slight crack when held to the light. I'm too lazy to request a refund or anything but I'd definitely recommend against these. Mine was mostly clear with only a few swirls of red so the photo they use is definitely misleading. Ironically if they had used more dye or whatever to make it more red I wouldn't have seen the bubbles or the crack. If you don't know that smelt quartz means, basically this stuff starts out as a liquid glass/resin and its poured into a mold and then polished after hardening. This was not a stone that was mined or cut. Its man-made. And poorly done.

This is a Glass Ball but my issue is that this was not as RED as shown on the Picture.
