****Update 8/3/13: I just found out today Empyrean Hair extensions, the supplier my review below is based on no longer sells their product on Amazon. Any hair extensions sold on Amazon stating it is Empyrean hair extensions are fake and sold from other retailers from China according to Empyrean's company website. My update is intended to ensure that those interested in this product understand my review was based on product shipped and sold by Empyrean which no longer retails on Amazon according to their website. ******Here's my two cents on my experience using Empyrean Hair extensions sold and shipped by Empyrean Hair. I've had the hair installed for four weeks now and it has been washed three times and deep conditioned once thus far.Condition of hair after shampoos:Hair is far superior to other brands of 100% Virgin Remy. After the third wash, the hair has not lost its vitality and it doesn't look dull like other brands tend to look after the second or third wash. This hair does not tangle during washing! I can run water on the hair it remains tangle free. I do use sulfate and paraban free shampoo. I ensure that it is conditioned by using a wide tooth comb to distribute the conditioner evenly. Honestly the more I wash the hair the better it looks. I treat the hair as if it has grown from my scalp. I want the hair to last.Tangle Free for the most part:Empyrean hair does not tangle when wet nor does it tangle much when you wear it loose after the third wash. Yes there is a little tangle when wearing it loose, but not more than what would naturally occur when you wear your hair down. If you just comb out tangle(s) with your fingers, it bounces right back. You do not need to use a paddle bush to get the kinks out when it tangles from wearing it down.Shedding:Honestly, the hair sheds a little too much then I prefer however it isn't so much shedding that it becomes a deal breaker for me. Please note: I noticed during the 1st wash, the hair shed too much [maybe about an inch in diameter] for my liking however after more washes, the less it shed. I do think Empyrean should look into tighten their wefts a little more to avoid the amount of shedding that does occur. It seems like a fixable problem.Condition of Hair when received from Empyrean:As the vendor has stated on their website, the hair does arrive with a slight smell of industrial shampoo. Pending your sensitivity to smell, it is definitely bearable. If you can't bear the smell, I would suggest you wash or rinse the hair before install and that will reduce or eliminate the smell [to eliminate smell, wash]. Empyrean properly set expectations so it wasn't a surprise nor was it a deal breaker for me. For me, I'd rather Empyrean use strong shampoo to sanitize the hair in light of it truly being virgin hair vs. not using it. For those who may be sensitive to smell and you don't want to rinse or wash the hair to reduce or eliminate the shampoo smell before install, I would suggest that you not bother buying the hair if you know you will not like it.How much hair you get:Note the longer the hair the thinner the bundle seems. I've purchased 20, 18 and 16 inch lengths, and at install only needed to use two packs of the 20 inch for a full head sew in! Pleasantly surprised considering how much hair I purchased. Now I have enough to last me for a couple of years using fresh hair at each new install (every two months). The bundle may look thinner, but the hair is actually fuller than it looks when installed.Delivery and Ease of transaction:Lastly, Empyrean delivered the hair quicker than what Amazon posted on the website. I received the hair within a week after ordering. Also, when I inquired concerning returning hair considering I purchased more than what I needed, their customer service ensured me they would happily accept returns and refund my purchase in full. I purchased hair from amazon that was sold and shipped by Empyrean for my own peace of mind. There are other vendors who sell Empyrean hair, however my review is based on hair sold and shipped from Empyrean Hair.Overall review:Empyrean hair is the highest quality hair that I've used. It looks great, takes to washing well, and retains its quality. I do take care of the hair, using the same shampoo I used on my natural hair [sulfate and paraban free] as well as deep conditioning once a month, braiding into two braids and wrapping the hair at night using a silk scarf. I don't envision me using any other hair brand unless some other company trumps Empyrean by offering better quality at a reasonable price as well. However until that happens, I will continue using Empyrean Hair. My only suggestion as mentioned above is for Empyrean to consider tightening the wefts a bit to decrease the amount of shed. The hair is reasonably priced and worth it.

1st the hair is not virgin but I don't care if it is or not the hair would not dye that is why it got four stars. I tried to ombre it with CW2 powder(powder bleach) and L'Oreal 40 developer but the only thing that happened was the hair turned a funny color brown so I dyed it back. The hair suppose to be 1B which is a sign that it is not true virgin (VIRGIN BRAZILIAN HAIR WILL ALWAYS BE DARK BROWN NEVER BLACK) I knew this but ordered the hair anyways because I am not looking for virgin hair just good hair. The hair came brown not black ;-( but I got over it and even like it better now. The hair was not exactly true to length seemed a little short for 16 inch like it should of been maybe 15 inches but I got over it and now I LOVE THIS HAIR!!! It came a week early it was soft and beautiful after sewing it in it does not tangle AT ALL the THE SHEDDING IS MINIMAL TO NONE it curls beautifully... The trick to ending the shedding is to put Dritz Fray Check on the weft of the hair to stop the shedding or Aleene's Fray Stop (brought at Wal-Mart Hobby Lobby or Amazon) you can look it up on YouTube to see how its done (HOW TO SEAL YOUR HAIR WEFTS) after doing this you will love this hair!! Also remember to treat the hair like it is your natural hair which means wash, condition, and moisturize, but don't over do it! I will continue to order this hair it is soooooo cheap but it is better quality than hair store hair that is the same price.. I have spent triple this price on one bundle of Indian Remy hair from the hair store and it didn't last me three weeks. I hated it from the time I put it in and ended up covering it up until I was just ready to take it out so trust me for the price it is definitely AAA hair!! P.S. 2 1/2 to 3 bundles to do your entire head and I will post a pic of my sew in so keep watching for it!! If you are complaining about the cheap hair then maybe you should crack open your piggy banks and up the $300 or more it will take to get AAAAA hair or spend even more like celebs!!

Let me start off by saying that this hair has good qualities & bad qualities (the bad outweigh good ) The things I hate about this hair is its NOTHING like the pictures. It looks Exactly like cheap beauty supply store hair thats been taken out the package and placed in a little bag then a box and shipped out. Another thing i hate is the hair that was delivered to me was EXTREMELY thin. If i was buying this hair to do my whole head I would have ordered at least 5-6 so called bundles just to cover the head and im pretty sure that would be thin. I also had a very hard time lifting the color from this hair. I bleached it 3 times & i Did a shampoo mixture twice and the color lifted to decent shade but i would have liked for it to be lighter since i planned on coloring the hair a pinkish/purple color. Now to the thing i love about this hair. I bleached the hair multiple times and it did not dry out & as far shedding the hair did shed a lot while i was lifting the color and stuff but once the hair was in my head the shedding pretty much went away. Overall I wouldn't recommend this hair to anyone who is buying it for your whole head(like i planned on doing) because its not enough and its very thin. I do hair (im not licensed) so i have a lot of hair laying around my house so I pretty much used all this hair at the back since the color didn't lift & it was so thin and the hair that i had at the top.**AS FAR AS THE PICTURES ** I ended up putting bantu knots(curl pattern shown in purple shirt) in the hair because it was still so thin. As of right now I've been putting Flexi rods in the hair since thats easier to do every night and it gives tighter curls (shown in white shirt) but i doubt if I'll ever wear this hair straight.
