Walking Bass for Jazz and Blues: The Complete Walking Bass Method (Learn how to play bass)

I really like this book
I'm thinking a lot of folks are like me and have bought a number of books about walking bass lines and other music theory subjects. I have probably 5 or 6 on the subject and there are many more out there. I just received this book about a week or so ago and I'm at the end of Chapter 3 going through Example 30: Twelve-Bar Blues. In other books I've gone through, the author(s) assume some level of music theory knowledge, which I have a little bit of but I'm not an expert by any means. And, as a result, I make it a few chapters in and lose interest. This book is different and it works great for me. It goes through step by step, showing examples at a pace that's good for me. I'm thinking I've finally found the book I can go cover-to-cover and learn some solid basics. And, once I've gone through this, I can return to some of the other theory books. The bottom line is, each book is different and will work better for some than others. If you're like me and want some step by step Walking Bass examples and instruction, I'd highly recommend this book. I'd buy it again in a second.

Very straight forward
I have played bass for many years, but only by ear with a simple understanding of blues progressions. This book walks me through the process so I understand the actual theory and practical application of the patterns. Thank you for making it easy to follow and understand.

Great book for learning to think in a walking bass line
This book has a gradual pace which really teaches us how to think in terms of creating a walking bass line. There are many examples of walking bass lines but I think the real value in this book is not in learning to copy a few great walking bass lines but in getting an understanding of constructing our own lines to fit what we are playing.

High stepping and Bass walking
This book lays it out and walks you through it. I love to hear that bass walking. This book lays out walking step by step, pun intended. By the end of the first chapter your creativity is charged and taking off. A must have skill for all bassists.

Kindle Issues but great book
Big problem with the Kindle version of this book is the staff music and tabs are hardly readable as they don't enlarge if you attempt to enlarge the font, which is needed to read the tabs. Aside from that, and that is a big problem, the way the instrument is approached is thorough and well thought through, and enjoyable to learn. Great book, but fix the Kindle issues.

The music book needs bigger print.
The only thing I didn’t like about the music book was that the print is too small.

Un peu déçu.
Cordes à vide utilisées; peu pratique pour transposer. Page 39 diagramme faux pour la 3b. Fichiers audio tous téléchargeables. Exemples à 2 ou 4 mesures seulement.

Walking Bass
Arrivato in tempi veloci, ottima impressione e chiarezza espositiva.. sicuramente meglio di tanti altri metodi sul tema. Carina la copertina leggermente gommata
