After years of trying various storage containers, I've finally found one that works! My OXO POP containers were so awful that my coffee only stayed fresh for a couple days. My air-tight Lock & Lock containers (which I absolutely love) only kept it fresh for a week or so. Neither of those containers kept out UV light or allowed CO2 to escape, which are bigger factors than I realized. I always thought that coffee would stay fresh as long as it was in an air-tight container, but now I know that that's only one piece of the coffee freshness puzzle. This Culinary Prestige canister has all the pieces, and it keeps my coffee as fresh as the day I opened it! It looks so nice on my counter, and I'm glad I can finally stop wasting money on stale coffee. It easily holds a 12oz bag of beans, and it has a nifty calendar wheel so you can mark the date of the new bag. I saw a few reviews where people weren't sure how to turn the month wheel, so I uploaded a video showing how. I think the mechanism is just a little stiff when you first get it, so it doesn't rotate easily. It would also be nice if there was a notch to give it some traction, but I found that pushing down just a bit helps when you rotate it. The only other thing I have to mention is cleaning the canister. The instructions do say to wipe it down with a damp cloth before the first use, but I know it's tempting to ignore that since the canister looks so clean when you receive it. However, you really should wipe it down. Most stainless steel bowls/containers will have a small amount of black residue on them from when they are polished in the factory (see my picture). This residue won't come off with just running water, so you need to take a damp cloth or a paper towel and rub it until the black is gone (don't forget to wipe the scoop, too). After it's completely dry, it's ready to be filled with delicious, fresh coffee! You definitely won't regret trying this canister! Review: Looks great and does the job! - This is a simple product done really well. Here are the features I enjoy: Locking and sealing lid, keeps in the coffee freshness! It's small. This will hold an entire 12oz small package of coffee. If you have a large family and go through coffee frequently this may not be the best. My wife and I will go through a small bag in about 2 weeks which is the shelf life of coffee in this container so it's perfect for us. The size also allows it to fit nicely in our cabinet. It has a stainless steel scoop which is nice and it actually fits in the canister when the entire package of coffee is in there. The top has a calendar feature. It's a cool idea but i don't know how often I'll use it. We'll run out of coffee before it goes bad, but I guess if you are using minimal coffee each day it could be very helpful. I did find it a little hard to set though. This is a good product. It's a good deal for the price!

Culinary Prestige... Nicely done!
I stumbled upon this canister quite by accident and I am glad that I did. This is a really nice canister. It retains the freshness of my coffee beans better than I had anticipated. The superior construction is also worth noting. It's constructed with stainless steel and a plastic air tight seal. I've seen more expensive ones that are not remotely close in terms of quality. The low price point is worth noting. There are probably many more canisters that are available at this price but I would rather support a small start up company that put forth the effort to create a high quality item such as this. Lastly, the design is subtle but elegant. It looks great next to my Bunn Velocity coffee maker. I expect that this canister will be a staple on my countertop for many years I come.

Stylish, Stainless Steel Coffee Canister
This is a cool little coffee keeper canister. We make coffee almost every single morning so we go through it fairly quickly. We sometimes like to mix our medium roast coffee with flavored coffees. For the flavored ones, we buy whole beans and grind enough for a few days. I was just storing the ground beans in one of our empty plastic coffee containers with the snap-on lids. Until I used this container, I didn't really realize how much of the taste and aroma we were losing. When I open this canister the full aroma of my ground beans is as strong and full as the moment I ground them and it makes a difference because more of the flavor is coming through when we brew it. The canister itself is really cool and does what it says it will. It holds up to 16 ounces of whole beans. The body is made of sturdy stainless steel. The lid seals airtight when you close the latch, preventing oxygen, light and moisture from from getting inside. There is a one-way valve in the lid that allows CO2 gas to escape, but doesn't allow oxygen or moisture to enter. The lid is sturdy plastic, but I am not sure if it is BPA free or not since it isn't listed on the box and there was no printed information included. The top of the lid contains two dials - one marked for the months of the year and one marked with days of the month - these are intended to serve as a reminder of when you put the coffee in the canister. I don't like the month dial... I had to pry that piece out of the lid with my knife to put it on the correct month. The outer ring moves fine to show the day in the little window, but there should be an easier way to change the month without risking damaging the lid. The canister is very nice looking and the style fits in with almost any decor. There is a stainless steel scoop included. The scoop is 1/8 of a cup (30mL), which is a great size for coffee. Overall, I really like this coffee canister. It works really well and I just have been ignoring the date dials. We usually use our coffee pretty fast anyway, so it hasn't been a huge deal for us.
