Crane Cool Mist Humidifier, 1 Gallon,White,EE-5956

I wanted small, efficient, quiet, ultrasonic mist. I got all that plus. I like the clock and alarm; they cut down on the items on my bedtable. The machine does go through the entire tank of water in one night or less, depending on how intense I make the mist, but it has a clever programming option. It can go on and off in intervals, according to how I program it, making the misting last long nights, or run for shorter times. I also love the blue light, which can be completely turned off, just shown through the clock window, or lit up throughout the water chamber to make a pretty night light. This seems to be a quality product to me. No regrets.November 12, 2013 - 7 months later. Still extremely impressed. Every word above is continuing to be completely true.

The output vent was supposed to turn 360 degrees but it didn't turn at all. The handle made it easy to carry as advertised, but made it really awkward when trying to fill it. It was hard to keep it upright under the faucet. After about two weeks, it suddenly started making intermittent loud fan noise. It was doing fine and I slightly bumped the table it was on, and suddenly it was really loud. After turning it off... and waiting, later I could turn it on and have it run a little quieter, but certainly NOT whisper quiet as advertised. AND then, the auto off when empty, it didn't work either. SO I'm not sure what was going on with this but I had to return it.

My wife bought this last fall to take to work. She has been using it on a shelf over her desk 8 hours a day, M-F, since then, and loves it. She works on a computer all day and says it helps to keep her eyes from getting irritated, even though she works in a large "cube farm," and is very quiet. Unlike other, less expensive personal humidifiers she has tried, it has been going strong for months. She fills it once a day with filtered water and it puts about a good amount of mist for about 7-8 hours at high speed She empties it every weekend and lets it dry out over the weekend, and has only had to clean it few times since we bought it. Fill it 1/4 full with a 2:1 mixture of vinegar and water for 24 hrs, scrub gently with the included brush, and the little bit of mold or buildup is gone.It has only just now started to show signs of imminent failure (a loud noise upon starting up), but I am here to buy a new one. We are very pleased with this product and feel it is definitely worth the slightly higher price.

I just received this the other day. So far I really like it. The humdifier is small it fits on a shelf. I like it because it will run for 10 hours. I use the lowest setting. I think that is enough to run all night. It is easy to fill the top comes off and I take it in the bathroom and fill with a bottle of water I have in there. I am trying to figure out how to set the cycle funtion so it will run and then turn off and run and turn off. I have not figured out how to do that yet. If you are looking for a small humidifer that is portable and will humidify a small room you should look into this model. It does make a small humming noise I guss there is a fan at the bottom of the base. You have to have the bottom clear. The night light is nice it is a soothing blue I do not use that or light up the clock you do not have to have the lights on.

I really like this cool mist humidifier which I use for our son's room. It lasts more than 8 hours if using the lowest setting. Very easy to clean. I have been using the unit for two weeks straight and I haven't done the recommended vinegar wash yet. I don't see any pink stuff nor any water calcification on the unit. But one thing I've done is use Brita filtered water which is probably why I don't see any white stuff on our furniture. Every morning, I empty both the water tank and the base, turn the tank over to let the excess moisture drip out and make sure to wipe the tank opening and the base dry. These all take a minute to do. By evening, it's ready for use again.It makes some loud whirring noise if the clock is not set (blinking 12:00). Just turn off unit. Turn it back on and set the clock then turn on at the highest level before adjusting to preferred setting - that makes the noise go away. Also, the light is very bright but it can be turned off with the middle button.The mist though seems to go in all directions, especially at the highest settings that's why I only gave the unit 4 stars. But to remedy this, I just place the unit on a large flat plastic tray. Since I usually use the lower settings, the surface doesn't really get wet.

The last humidifier I had was big, filled the room with moisture that mainly condensed on the windows in very cold weather (which, over time, will destroy the wood), was hell to fill (since it was too big to fill in the bathroom), and had yucky big filters that had to be cleaned and changed and stuff.I did not know that there was such a thing as a "personal" humifidier. This Crane is totally nifty, easy to fill, easy to use, has nice features without being too complicated, and you clean it once a week by letting it sit in a vinegar & water mix and then just rinse it out. It puts out plenty of moisture for a personal space. I have it sitting on my desk or, when that is inconvenient, on the floor beside me. I like it so much I just ordered a second one to put by my bed at night. Totally nifty!

Bought a month ago. At first , it works good, fine mist, clock, etc.. About a week ago, it stops functioning, no mist come out sometimes and it didn't turn off automatically when run out of water. I had a crane animal humidifier which is much more reliable. I bought this one bc of the size, however, it was a bad choice.

The humidifier was the perfect size for our needs, and it appeared to work well.. But after 3 hours, it stopped working: no mist, no clock. After troubleshooting with differing electric plugs, i gave up and returned the product.
