Stylistics

Good for teacher and researcher

I'm reading this text for a stylistics course, and I think it is very direct in its description of different methodologies and practices. I may be a biased though as I've already completed sociolinguistics course work, and stylistics and sociolinguistics have similar practices and theoretical perspectives.

it is a very handy book with very straightforward language. It gives an outline of immense importance about stylistics,its history and the scope of it and its intertwined nature with other disciplines.

Approche linguistique de la stylistique, ce livre est un régal.Par contre, je conseillerais de refaire un index plus détaillé afin de retrouver, avec facilité, certaines notions : generic-level metaphor, trajector, landmark, etc.Je le lis juste pour mon plaisir !

Acheté format Kindle (moitié prix, l'encombrement en moins !) pour les cours.Une approche intéressante quoiqu'un peu rébarbative. On a souvent l'impression de lire la même chose sous une forme différente.Bon, pour un bouquin que je suis obligée de lire pour les cours, c'est pas trop mal j'ai vu bien pire !

I am using this in a graduate linguistics class. The book was sent in a timely manner and arrived in excellent condition. An excellent text on analyzing narratives for linguistic style and discourse.
