I have color treated blonde hair that I take really good care of and using a hot tool as much as I do requires a good quality product. Really impressed with this iron. It was a dream to use and did an amazing job of giving my hair the finishing touches to my straight blunt bob. I have been using one of the top of the line flat irons but this is so much superior. No grabbing, so many heat choices and a pleasure to use and the results are beautiful. Great choice.

I ordered this from Amazon and not a third party seller about 6 months ago and waited to do a review so that I could see how it works after the return window. I have super curly hair (I know the name on the review says Doug- I am his wife and have long curly hair). I would not describe my hair as textured, but it is probably around a 2C/3A on the curly hair meter. Is it Genuine Babyliss? I actually was very concerned about the possibility of buying a fake knock-off, so I waited until Amazon was back in stock with it. I made sure that it said "Ships from and Sold by Amazon", and not just "Fulfilled by Amazon". You may have to choose Amazon from the list of sellers if they're not the cheapest one at the moment. I am so glad that I waited, because I'm sure that this is real. To test it, I timed how long it would take to heat up, since that seems to be the defining factor according to the reviews. It took less than a minute, probably less than 30-45 seconds, to heat up fully. Is it a good flat iron? YES I LOVE IT. To be fair, I was coming from a cheap-o Remington flat-2-straight (which, for the price, is a decent flat iron), but this is amazing and I LOVE IT. I used to have this problem with my old flat iron where if I decided to wear my hair straight, the next time I washed it, I would have a bad curly hair day because my hair was so fried. And I couldn't even think of straightening it two wash cycles in a row. Now I flat iron my hair most of the time and I still don't have split ends or dry hair. And I don't put any product in my hair before I straighten it either. I still use this if I want to wear my hair curly- I put it on low heat and gently loosen the curls on just the top of my head so that it's not a rat's nest up top but it allows my ringlets to stay in tact below. I would never have been able to do this with my old flat iron. I can also use this to make my hair wavy instead of curly by doing the above on all my hair. If you have hair like mine and you don't want it to be stick-straight (which it will do for you if you want), do just a tad of blow-drying straightening beforehand for the volume. I can sometimes make my hair straight without sectioning out the layers, but that's only if I'm really short on time- I still recommend sectioning them out. My hair stylist swears by this flat iron, and now I see why! But she did scold me for keeping the temperature too high- I had it at 40, which worked very well and I didn't have to pass over it twice ever. My hair stylist recommended no higher than 35, which doesn't work quite as well, but now I damage my hair less. The one con: No auto-shutoff I almost didn't buy this because it has no auto shutoff and I get really paranoid about whether I left my hair straightener on. I am SO glad I decided to buy it anyway, but for those of you who are concerned, do what I did and buy a thing to put in your outlet that has an auto-shutoff on a timer (mine was Belkin Conserve Energy Saving Outlet ). I just keep my flat iron plugged into it, even if it's not plugged into the wall, so I never forget to have the backup safety measure. I hope this review was helpful, and I really hope you decide to buy this flat iron so you can be as happy as I am with it! If you buy it from Amazon and it's not what you were expecting, you can always return it!

Absolute favorite hair straightener. Owned my first one for 12 years before buying a replacement. Works great, heats almost instantly, easy to use. Has multiple heat settings and a slim build, making it ideal for everyone. Highly recommend!

I decided to buy the BabylissPRO flat iron because it had been used on me at the salon, and I loved the results. Now I use it at home to do my own hair. I have long, thick hair, and this flat iron leaves it looking beautiful, smooth, and frizz-free. I bought the wider version, which helps me straighten my hair much faster and in less time. It has definitely been an excellent purchase, and I highly recommend it.

My hair type: I am caucasian with very very thick (can just barely fit a normal hair band for pony tails around it. The strands are very coarse but very thin (according to the hair dressers I have gone to and multi textural). It's naturally curly which means it is extremely frizzy and I can not go out in humidity without it geled then braided with gel and hair spray slicking everything down and even then if wind/rain is involved I need a big stocking cap to just hide it. My old flat iron is the Kioseki flat iron cost $100 plus. I hit the high heat button with my palm with every use to the highest setting which caused burning hair, or shut it off and didn't know it until the hair quit straightening. Did't last long in humidity, but was long enough to be happy at the time. Took me 55 to 75 minutes to straighten it completely starting with air dried hair. Hair 1.5" below my shoulder blades when straight. Someone spilt a little beer down my hair at a wedding and it immediately frizzed out in the wet area. The iron did have a very nicely made cord and came with a heat resistant case with some hair clips to help with straightening. Babyliss: 30 minutes to straighten after all dry (same length). Cost much less & titanium plates. My babyliss straightened hair has lasted through snow flurries and then when inside it just drys up and doesn't make my hair frizz out from getting a little wet from the snow- shocking for me). I can't wait to see how the MN humidity of 90% will work out for me! For now (winter) it stays straight until I wash it and unless I curl it (curls need touch ups after sleeping)it stays bone straight. Cons: -poorly made cord compaired to others -plates don't pivot -outside gets so hot it can be easy to burn head/hands/ears -can't hold the end of the tip from heat unless wearing a heat glove -after 2 weeks of curling hair (not everyday either) the blue paint is gone where the hair wraps around the barrel part and it's not very smooth any more. :( -didn't come with a heat case and is to big for most normal sized flat iron cases -barrel is not nicely rounded and sometimes makes awkward curls if not doing it just right (watch youtub for instructions I was thinking that I would get the brazillian blow-out hair treatment for the summer to not have to worry about the humidity at all but maybe I can save a few hundred dollars by just using the babyliss?! Update: Titanium plates and high heat settings are great...I am going to do my own keratin treatment and the titanium plates with 450 degree temps (I won't use that high of heat) are a requirement to have successful results!

Great flat iron! Sleek and light weight! I have curly hair and it was easy to use, got close to my roots. However, it gets HOT!! Even the outside of the flat iron part. Definitely becareful around kids and pets. Hoping it last for years! Glad I bought it!

I have very thick and corse (wavy) long hair. I prefer this size because it's best for starightening and also curling. Works great. Super Light and easy to handle. Cord doesn't get in the way and is pretty long. I haven't used it at maximum heat because it wasn't necessary to get the job done. I've used all the popular brands and thought I would try this out...so far so good. Smooth and shiny finish.

Doesn’t work well in the UAE. I have thick and wavy hair. It Doesn’t straighten my hair like other straighteners. Not recommended for middle eastern hair.
