Bought this item for my granddaughter birthday. One very happy girl.

The ‘rocks’ were plastic. So I feel the title is misleading.It’s the kind of gift you’d buy as a once off, but we felt really disappointed. It would have been been so much more satisfying to collect big stones and some acrylic paints. The effect would have been far better. I would not buy again, not even as a child’s birthday party gift.

Overall a great little kit but it was a bit fiddly for my little boy, who is 6, to use. At first the paint didn't stick to the rocks, so I had to help him do a couple of coats and then it was better. He didn't enjoy it as much as I thought he would as he found it quite difficult to paint the rocks, as it is quite fiddly, but I enjoyed it more. There was a random apron and 2 sleeves included which were tiny!

Birthday present for our 5 year old Greatgrandaughter. I know she will absolutely love it.

It comes with 4 paints, small paper cups for mixing the paints ( which we managed to wash and reuse), wooden stirrers, tattoos (space themed) and flat stones. This was fairly straightforward to use for my 6 and 3 year old with supervision, of course. The stones are not very large. My hand is to the smaller side and I am able to fit 4 stones on it. This is to give you an idea of the size of the stones. They probably could do better with having slightly larger sized stones, but they worked well and the kids had tons of fun pouring different mixtures of paints on them. One thing we did notice was the color mixing combinations given on the box weren't really correct, unless there is a specific proportion they needed to be added in and we got wrong maybe.

I did not expect the rocks to be included in the kit, which made the kit heavier to post. The children who received this had already collected rocks. However, they did enjoy painting the rocks.
