would Cricket brand lighters work?

Just a Tip: I keep one of these in my repair room at my house and just refill the included cartridge. It's lasted 10 years so far. I also keep one in my truck and I used to keep the 10 packs of those Cricket or Scripto type lighters in my truck cause it's much easier to pop in one of those than refilling the one that came with it. Trouble is, I would have to buy a whole new complete Torch unit every 4-6 months because the nozzles would get clogged and I couldn't clean them out so I would have to throw them away. After the 3rd New Torch for the truck, I realized it is the cheap chinese butane that comes in these replacement lighters that's clogging the tips. Now I only refill the one in the truck and after 3yrs+ it hasn't clogged.

Can I order it without lighter . Because I would like to ship it out

It includes a refillable lighter that is the more squarish style of cheap lighter you might find at any convenience store. That is the ONLY style that will fit. This product is terrible. It's a great idea but its execution is awful. It just does not work and it is a safety hazard. Mine almost exploded 3 times. It gasses into the body of the torch and can burst into flames as a result. Striking it is FAR too difficult and totally unreliable. STAY AWAY FROM THIS torch.

What is the difference between the 2019 and the older model Soto pocket torch?

The 2019 model comes with a refillable lighter that fits perfectly in the pocket torch. The fuel is sold separately.

This thing is awesome. It says not to use the slanted top lighters, but they work perfectly. I get a good flame every time that is hard to blow out. A must have item for me.

I’ve tried the ones available locally but this is the best micro torch out there. Worth importing. I use mine as a travel jet lighter for cigars. Put this in your checked baggage, the standard lighter in your pocket and when you get to your destination you have a jet lighter. Lost a few standard jet lighters in the past and this is the perfect solution that gets around air travel rules.
