Inspirational and heartfelt!
I personally know Cory. He and my oldest daughter Hillary met at SCSU (Pg. 211). They are dear friends. This memoir is a testimonial of the person Cory is. Very kind, caring and giving of his time (and all proceeds from his amazing story, he is giving to the CT Make A Wish)... even after everything he has been through. This story is the epitome of inspiration!Thank you Cory, for sharing your story. You are amazing!!Warm Regards,Michelle

A Very Nice Memoir
In his memoir, More Than a Wish, Cory Metz writes with such honesty, vulnerability, and humor. He bares his insecurities, but also his many strengths in coming to terms with his changed life. In the first half of the book, he details his life before his diagnosis, during his treatments, and afterwards. He shows us not only his "can do" spirit, but also his "will do" spirit. In the second half of his book, he relates his experiences and emotions as a wish granter for children in the Make A Wish Foundation. I met Cory when he was one of two wish granters for my son "Stan" who is mentioned in this book. He is such a genuinely nice and caring person. In fact, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of his memoir go to the Make A Wish Foundation Connecticut Chapter. How selfless of an act is that? Please recommend this book to anyone you know. It is for everyone and is an easy read. I read it in a weekend. Please support Cory in his support of the Make A Wish Foundation to make seriously sick kids' lives happier.

More Than A Wish - amazing !!!!!
After finding out that my friend's son wrote a book about his life, I couldn't order fast enough. When i got my book, I couldn't put it down! I do like to read but I've never read a book in such a short period of time. Cory really made me feel like i was doing more than reading; it was like I was right there next to him; walking the school halls, trying to climb that one step on his front porch, sitting there at Gaylord (THANK GOD for GAYLORD!). I can only imagine how proud his mom and dad are of him, not only for being strong (whether he realized that or not), but to share with everyone; friends, family and complete strangers, the story of his life. After reading this, Cory, I am PROUD of you and all you do to 'pay it forward" with your dedication to Make-A-Wish and to every single child that benefits from your kindness, hard work and volunteering. Congratulations to you and THANK YOU for sharing your amazing journey. God Bless you and your family. Marylee Woitowitz

Read this book, and have your children read it, too!
Great read--could not put this book down! Cory's story reflects the physical and emotional struggles of a child undergoing significant medical events and treatment during his teenage years and beyond. This book should be a MUST READ for pre-teens and teens who are often unaware of others' struggles. Cory's story unveils a tenacity in pursuing various accomplishments, and he is raw and FUNNY in sharing both the good and bad he experienced through each achievement. His evolution to becoming a Wish-Grantor for Make-A-Wish is inspirational! He helps the reader understand how MAW creates their magic for children. Major bonus (and a reflection on Cory's character): he has donated his book proceeds to the Make-A-Wish Foundation!

Inspiring Story
I’ve had the pleasure to get to know Cory over the last 2 years as his physical therapist. Like Cory, I wasn’t much for reading until my mid twenties and have enjoyed a variety of books, but Cory’s story is one of a kind. It’s inspiring to see someone who has been through a myriad of health conditions maintain a positive attitude on life and a passion for helping others who are in similar situations. I believe we all require good mentors in life, and for those young children out there dealing with a major illness, Cory is the guy. I hope many decide to read and share his story. It was a pleasure reading.

I "Wish" Everyone would read this book
While I was reading Cory's book I felt like we were sitting and having a conversation. His book is insightful, emotional, inspiring, uplifting and funny. I think it should be read by every middle school student because it shows how someone their same age took something bad and turned it into something positive. Cory's story about his family's support and love throughout his life will fill your heart with joy. The Make a Wish Foundation is lucky to have Cory as their spokesperson and as someone who grants wishes. Thank you for sharing your story and the stories of others with me.

An inspiring must read!
This is a heartwarming, heartbreaking, inspiring, funny, honest, and courageous book. Cory speaks from his heart about, at times, the overwhelming health issues he has and is still enduring. He talks of how the Make-A-Wish Foundation granted his wish (to meet Mets, David Wright). And for the four days of that wish he forget his health issues and could “just be a kid”. He later reflected on that experience and decided he wanted to help other child fulfill their wish by becoming a wish granter. I really recommend this book as “a must read”!
