Good book if you are using egg donor with husband
The book mentions cells and the uterus, but isn't too technical. It reads as a good book to explain donor egg with a husband, but only that scenario - with a husband. To me the best part was when the kid said she wanted to look like her mom and her mom replied she wouldn't want her daughter to look any different than she does now. I also liked the explaining of similarities between the two outside of genetics. Very sweet book.

The most effective book our children have read about egg donation
We have read Mommy Was Your Tummy Big, The Egg Lady, and the very confusing Itsy Bitsy Tiny Gift of Life with our children. This is by far the most direct, realistic and helpful book. Even though it is written for elementary school children, we have been reading it with our 3.5 year old twins since they were two and they LOVE it and request it. As they get older, it begins to resonate more and more. By far our favorite on this topic!

Not a story review! Amazon sent misprinted copy
I ordered this book but received I misprinted version. It contained multiple unrelated stories and the title story was all the way at the back. It was as thick as a novel! Not good for reading to little kiddos.

The BEST!
The best children's book available for explaining egg donation to elementary-age children! I recommend this book to all patients who have used oocyte donation in order to conceive their children.Lauren Magalnick Berman, Ph.D.

Great book
This is a great book for an older child. Mine is 3 and I feel it's too early for me to get in to this much biology. In a few years t will be perfect.

Two Stars
Story and illustration is very basic and the book itself is thin and flimsy.

Five Stars
Good narrative showing the possible confusion in a child's mind about egg donation. Good for elementary age kids.
