This was a direct replacement for my 2005 Ford F150. The old one was extremely difficult to remove and the new one was just as difficult to install. Better instructions could have been provided. I had to find a YouTube video to get it figured out. I did have minor paint damage around the area I was installing due to my poor effort. I needed to watch a video a few times to figure out the trick to removing and installing it.

It is just as hard to get the old one out as to put the new one in. It just takes time.

Was not a perfect fit, to the eye it appeared to be exactly the same but after measuring it with a caliper it proved to be slightly off needing some shaving in several areas to make it fit and work.

It works as described for my 2004 F-150 but takes some muscle to force it in place. The factory unit popped right out but this unit seems to have a lower drain hole that had to be forced into place. While trying to wrangle with it a piece of the trimming broke off while trying to find an angle that worked. Once in place everything fit as it should have and screwed back in place securely. One note about the door actuation is that when opening and closing it makes a very loud click as the tension spring snaps into place. Not a show stopper but different than the OEM part. Overall I'm pleased and glad to be rid of the factory flapper.. .
