I'm sure most have experienced an issue with kitchen sponges beginning to smell after prolonged use. If you search the web, you'll find countless methods for rejuvenating them and eliminating the smells. (Heating a sponge in a microwave oven for a minute is really popular). While some of these methods work, the fix doesn't last long and soon the sponge stinks and leaves that musty aroma on your hands.These are the solution. They come in packages of 12, 16 and 24. They're made of wood pulp, so they're biodegradable, if you care about that. They are compressed in the box, so even the largest size takes up very little storage. When you need one, you pop it out of the box, run it under clean water, and in a few seconds, fully-expanded sponge.They're strong but flexible. They provide lots of suds with just a few drops of dishwashing soap. And the best part? After a lot of use (they do last a long time), when they start to get that odor, toss it and get a new one. Simple.

They managed to store all of these sponges in a tiny cardboard box. When you add water to a sponge it expands into a true size sponge ~ 4-1/2 x 3 inches. It is getting impossible to find these sponges at the supermarket without one of the abrasive sides. These sponges are soft on both sides. I use them throughout the home and to clean my bike after each ride. They are durable too, as good as brand names. They will not scratch surfaces.

These are the best sponges I have used. They are more dense than other sponges and work very well when picking up spills or scrubbing. Because they are compressed, they store easily in an attractive box. I have ordered them twice and will continue to make them a cleaning staple in my home.

First issue I have is that the material is listed as silicone and the verbage below specifies cellulose and biodegradable.Once moist it is way firmer and larger than Ocelo, which are now thin and fragile. That is saying a lot because I only use each sponge for 1 week around my counters, table and sink, and then it becomes a floor sponge for a week and then it goes into the trash or is used to clean and oil my BBQ grill grates.Will report back in a week. Can say so far it is less absorbent than cellulose from Ocelo, and feels rubbery, so strongly suspect silicone content.update January 26, 2024: Due to its body, rubbery feel and poor absorption requiring paper towel follow up on counters, I believe these to be a cellulose silicone blend as the listing spells out. Back to searching for a cellulose sponge with body and better absorption.

These don't last very long before they develop a mildew odor. But the price is low enough for me to be willing to keep ordering them.
