Great machine, requires care.
This machine is incredibly easy to use and provides oodles of sprouts as long as you use fresh/new beans. Don’t soak beans as instructed for an hour before putting them in the machine, they’ll get soft, split and won’t sprout. A quick rinse then in the machine works best, for me anyway. Things to know that aren’t in the instructions: it’s made of hard plastic, if you drop the base or tub or tap them on the edge of the sink to remove water drops after washing, the plastic will crack or chip. Nothing that affects usefulness, so far. The water sprinkler head is held together with four screws and it’s an absolute must to take it apart every four or five batches and clean out, it gets nasty inside.

Love them sprouts
Still learning to use as described, was easy setup, drains well, sprouts love the water, it looks durable and versatile, you pick how many layers to grow (1-3) on mung beans i use 1-2 layers on smaller sprouts i use 3, but i do like the machine well.

Works as advertised, but won't get you thick sprouts.
First off: A 3 tray machine does not give you a deeper well. You only receive an additional tray. Though 3 is unnecessary because the well isn't deep enough for growing. 2 at the most. Second: Sprouts aren't thick. Even if you are using a 2 tray growing method. You would think that the top tray would have enough weight on top of the bottom tray to cause sprouts to thicken. It doesn't help. Third: You must change water at least once per day otherwise it could possibly produce mold. In between water changes you will notice that the water has turned slightly brown. Make sure you do a thorough rinse of well and base along with the straw and spout to ensure that mold won't produce. *Notice in the last photo of the paper towel* There's a brown residue that builds up from wiping inside the well so I'm sure it's on every part and within the machine. Fourth: There's a lot of waste left from the roots when discarding. Make sure that you have properly clean the trays because the roots do get stuck in the trays. Those can cause rot in your next batch. I use a cleaning brush with plastic bristles to remove all of the roots. My overall yield for 2 trays was nearly 0.8kg. That's good and so I can say it's a good product for growing sprouts all year round. *Setting for spring. In home temperature 60-75f. Daily water change and thorough rinsing and wiping out the well and base.*

Simple, reliable, and worth it!
I absolutely love this bean sprouter. I’ve used it for microgreens, bean sprouts, and even watercress, and everything has turned out great. It’s simple to use and does exactly what it’s supposed to. As long as you follow the instructions, pay attention to temperatures, and change the water daily, you shouldn’t have any issues. I plan to keep using this for as long as it lasts. No complaints at all.

Useless, stick to slanted jars
This product of an instance where automation and electronic settings produce an inferior process to simply rinsing a jar with a mesh lid and holding it upside down. You’ll get a large % of seeds simply not germinating and going to waste compared to the jar method. The ones that do germinate do so very unevenly from tray to tray. And when you’re done with the batch and it’s time to clean the trays, little seeds both sprouted and not will be stuck in the little gaps of the trays and it’s such a pain to pull them out that it obviates any gains in time and convenience form the jar method — real or imagined. Yes I changed the water religiously on this thing so that’s not why the seeds didn’t sprout so well. And I tried various ones: broccoli, king bean, alfalfa. It’s clunky, hogs up valuable counter space, doesn’t work well at all, and is a pain to clean. My guess is whoever gave it high stars never tried the simple no nonsense way of sprouting seeds in jars. Honestly this product is a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist.

Super Sprouter
I have tried sprouting in jars and special stacked containers before, but aways had varying degrees of success only because it is hard to be rinsing the sprouts every few hours when I am away at work most of the day. My friend recommended this to me after having great success with it. The container is a little fiddly to put together, main trick i find is that the plastic tube has to be wedged tightly in, tight! The instructions are easy to follow, and the only area I would recommend improvement is that the black out cover they give is a little skimpy, so you need to really fiddle with it to make sure both the top and bottom of the container is covered when you want no light to hit your sprouts. But, easy fix, I draped another piece of cloth of the whole thing and it worked well, it also doubles up as a catchall for drips when I change out the water, because yes, it will drip a lot when you first remove the trays. I love that the spray is automated and kicks in according to the seasonal setting you put it on. And two trays is a bonus, because you can sprout two different sprouts in one go. The first time I used it, I had so many successful sprouts it was like an overkill, it filled up a huge metal mixer bowl container and took us 2 weeks to finish it! Now that I know how successful this thing works, I will be putting much less seeds in the tray because the sprouting rate is like 99%! Much much better than my previous experiences of like 50-70% if I am lucky! And no more constantly remembering to rinse the sprouts out!

Great Under$50 System and a few tips.
When all other automated systems are $400+ this less than $50 system is amazing! A few things to do: 1. Change water daily 2. Use a tooth brush to clean 3. DONT grow alfalfa! (seeds too small) 4. Add marbles to the top tray to get thicker plants. 5. But spouts in a jar in the window if you want them to green up. 6. Mung Beans!
