It's good but not perfect
I'm usually not one to splurge on luxuries, but I decided I wanted a down comforter to replace my barely functioning electric blanket and synthetic comforter to stay warm on Winter nights. This comforter seemed like a good deal on sale for about ninety bucks, so I got it. I've now used it for about two Winters, so time for a review :)***THE GOOD****Very Warm* Good Price* Seems to be good quality***THE BAD****Not very breathable*HeavyExplanations:The comforter is very warm- I have never gotten cold under it. Unfortunately, it can get too hot at times and it doesn't let sweat out, so there are occasions where I wake up a bit damp. My wife doesn't sleep as hot as I do and doesn't have that problem. She stays warm under it but doesn't have dampness build up.The weight is the other negative about it. I know it says "heavy" in the description, but I wasn't prepared for exactly how heavy it is. Have you ever hit yourself in the face while lying in bed trying to pull up a heavy comforter that is hanging off the foot of the bed? I have done that a couple times with this when my grip slips while trying to haul it up. I thought down was supposed to be warm and LIGHT? I don't know why this is so heavy, even for a heavyweight down comforter. I have a down sleeping bag rated for 0 degrees that is light, and this comforter seems way heavy in comparison, even adjusting for size. It is so heavy it tears out the duvet cover connection points if you are just trying to pull it up by the cover. As others have mentioned, the outer cover is a little crinkly. With the duvet cover on, I don't notice it and it isn't a problem. The baffling on this seems to do a good job of keeping the down distributed properly so there aren't places without filling.Overall, I give this 3 stars. It gets 5 for value at the price I paid, but I'm a bit disappointed compared to my experience with other down comforters at hotels. I suspect you have to pay a lot more to get that kind of quality. I don't think I would purchase this again and may go back to synthetics that offer lighter weight and more breathability for the money.

Winter Heavy Down Comforter in Gray
This was the heaviest down comforter that I could find on Amazon when I ordered this. It matches my room (thankfully), so I bought it.I have bought IKEA down comforters that have lasted 8 years and I wanted a really heavy one.I didn’t really think the “chemical smell” was that bad but it comes with a warning message. It is oversized, thick and heavy. It’s not as soft as my IKEA down comforters, but I haven’t washed it because I wasn’t sure if I was going to keep it. I imagine it will be softer when I do.It does have a bit of the crinkly noise, but it’s stiff and it takes time for that to go away. My IKEA blankets did that too and now they are silent. All down comforters are lighter than other blankets but I bought this one specifically for winter and the heaviest fill I could find. So this is a WINTER ❄️ down comforter and it’s not supposed to be “light”. I would be upset if it was.I put it over my summer and medium down comforter and my blankets are almost a 6-8 inches deep. Thicker in other areas, because this is an oversized comforter. You can see how much it fluffed up in the pic. My arm is straight and I folded the side over my arm to show you that it’s a few inches thick. But it’s down so it flattens when you have your body on it. It’s not that gross polyester ball that you get in cheap comforters or kids blankets. But it will fluff back up when not in use.I use the Bamboo sheets that I bought (will add link later) and they are THE BEST sheets I have found. I randomly found a set at Target in 2007 that was on sale, and have been looking for them ever since. They are SO soft, silky and keep you cool at night.I’m on the hunt for a feather bed and I’ll have the perfect bed.

Soft, well-made and nicely weighed
What you need to know:- Firstly, give it a few days after you get it out of the vacuum sealed packaging to let it puff up. Realistically, it probably still won't look as fluffy as it does in the picture, but no duvet ever does. It still feels very fluffy on your body.- It's soft even if you don't put a cover on it, and you might not want to unless you're in a pretty cold environment. The fabric can amazingly feel both cool and warm, and the thickness is very pleasant.- It has a nice weight to it, which is what I wanted. It's not too light, nor should it be what you're looking for if you read the description.- Due to its weight and thickness, the fabric does make some minor crunching sounds, but it's not disruptive at all nor would I take a star out of it for it. You probably won't hear it if you put a cover on it though.- The stitching is well-made and it seems like the quality will hold for a long time.Overall, I'm very happy with this. This is the best I've been sleeping in a while. Don't underestimate the power of a comfortable bed.

The Goldilocks Comforter
I have been all over trying to find the right comforter. Years ago, I bought a three hundred dollar down comforter from Bed Bath and Beyond. It was a little too thin and not warm enough for cold Colorado nights. About a year and a half ago, I bought a faux-down comforter from Overstock. It was heavy, and did not have the same "feel" as a down comforter. Worse yet, the outer fabric would pill. It would shed thousands of little fabric balls that I constantly had to vacuum. When our dog had a kidney infection, he peed on it, and I used it as an opportunity to find a new one. I did a lot of research and decided on this comforter that I am reviewing. It has the perfect weight and warmth. We like to sleep in a cold room with a fan on (even in the winter) and this provides the perfect level of warmth. We have it inside a duvet cover and there are ample loops on the comforter to keep it secured. My $300 comforter from Bed Bath and Beyond did not have that. It has a crinkle sound when you move it, and I kind of like that. For the price and the quality of the product, I would buy it again and highly recommend it.

Outer shell material is not great
The problem is that the outer shell is already “ balling” and looks like threads are getting pulled
