These shoes are good for the average runner. I've used Asics for almost 20 years and have always been a good reliable shoe. They are wide enough for my foot, which I have wide feet, but not to loose they fall off or unsecure. The gel helps to provide more cushion.

Usually I buy Asics for work as I'm on my feet all day and walk around my job a lot. Recently I had forgotten my usual running shoes and chose to run in the Asics GT 1000 7 I had bought for work. They felt so great to run in that I decided to buy an extra pair to rotate in my marathon training runs. The cushioning is just right for longer runs and there's a nice spring with each step.

I have planters. Faceitis. In my heel and i walk regularly. These shoes feel great on my feet and give good support

Over the past 7 years I have purchased 7 pairs of GT-1000's The support and comfort are wonderful as I am a pronator and really need good arch support. I wear these every day!
