DK Eyewitness Greece: Athens and the Mainland (Travel Guide)

Some have complained that the newer DK guides are not as good as the old ones. They have changed a bit, softer cover, slightly lighter weight paper, but they are still loaded with info, and high-quality photos and exploded views of key points of interest. They have changed some, but have not lost what makes them the best.

I used to consider DK Eyewitness guides to be the best: Just the right amount of information, and beautiful maps and photographs printed on high quality paper. The latest Greece-Athens & The Mainland was a real disappointment. The paper is poor quality, and content not as thorough as past editions. I hope DK reconsiders the hangers they have made. I am glad I have my 2017 edition.

Great photos and information for a variety of touring options. Lovely the included walking tours.

Bought this travel book for my trip to Thessaloniki. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this book if that is your destination in Greece. There were only 6 pages covering that city in this book. However, this book would be a good travel guide for Athens. The book is helpful in regards to Greek culture and customs. There are also some Greek phrases provided that might be of use in your travels.

This company had a great thing going and completely messed it up. The books are now made with cheap, thin, not glossy paper that tears too easily. The book lacks the beautiful pictures that DK Eyewitness books are known for. The format and content have changed as well, and it is harder to find information. I've purchased over 20 of these books over the years, but sadly this will be my last one from this company.

bought to remind me of living in Athens, so many changes. The book is very good in discussing the many aspects of Greece that people don't often go to.

This is not a travel guide of Greece, as important parts are omitted. Not the quality I expected from DK. A big disappointment.
