The lock seems good overall, but the sizing is incorrect. Mine is 64 X .5 inches, not the 67x.6 advertised. I could have used that extra link.

It perfectl has a slight problem getting cloth chain gaurd to stay in place thd way I wanted it but then again I could be a lil picky

THIS IS VERY HEAVY DUTY BIKE LOCK. I PRICE THE CHAIN ALONE A MY HOME INPOVEMENT STORE, AND IT WAS TWICE THE PRICE JUST FOR THE CHAIN.

I bought a .4 inch version and was pleased enough to buy a .6 inch version. Disappointed. This review is for the .6 inch chain only.First the good. The chain seems to be of decent quality. There are machining marks so it's less than perfect but the welds seem to be alright. As for the hardness and strength I am not about to test it with a bolt cutter, but going by heft I'd say the quality is probably good to very good, and the value better than the competition. It's VERY heavy and unlikely anybody would want to bike around with this to lock up their bike.I do like the square chain design and feel it is the strongest against tool attacks like bolt cutters.Now the bad. While the .4 inch version tested reasonably close with a digital calipers (multiple points checked and typically around 3.9 inches) the .6 inch chain I got was a joke. Basically a LIE. I checked the diameter at many points in both planes and the maximum reading I got was around .53 inches with the minimum around .51. The idea that it's a .6 inch chain is just a bald faced lie. Even being generous with rounding you can't get to .6 from .53. Be warned.So while the chain is probably a decent security choice and good value, lying in product specs is indefensible and earns it a 1 star rating. This is a common problem with Chinese companies.As for the lock and claims about how high security it is, do NOT believe it. As others have pointed out the padlock quality is actually pretty low and easily defeated by thieves. Put a real lock on this chain.I've tested many, many padlocks in general and would recommend the Schlage 2.5 inch round body padlock which is a clone of the American Lock 700 series. I was able to score a 2 pack on Amazon for around $50 but at latest check they were unavailable. It's a very pick resistant lock with a heavy duty body and exceptionally thick shackle. Remember that the most common brute attack is with bolt cutters. Heavy chain and a big thick hardened padlock are the best defense against bolt cutters, or good quality U locks.

Lock started rusting heavily after just a sprinkle of rain. Lock mechanism was difficult to open after getting rusty. Chain shows no signs of rust, appears very well made. After drying lock and lubricating moving parts, it works well again. But I will try to keep it dry in the future.

Love the chain

The chain and padlock are extremely substantial. If someone is determined to steal your property they will, but this will make them think twice, it will also take them a while to get through it. I have seen comments about the padlock rusting, so will keep an eye on that.
