These pads seem to have a better venting design than some of the bigger brands. Lots of holes and some channels on the front should help. Some channeling on the back side where they contact the wearer might help further increase the feel of venting. The material is from a company called Sinopolymat. Their website lists the Evo E/K armor as having a 20.36kN transmitted impact force, which does pass the CE level 1 test (threshold is 35kN). Thinner orange pads transmit ~15kN on the same test. Some informal testing by dropping a weight onto these and other pads showed that these allow the weight to bounce a lot more than others. Some orange pads and other black pads that I have didn't exhibit much or any bounce at all with the same weight dropped from the same height. You can also feel the difference by hand. The lack of slow rebound effect makes these pads feel a little more flexible than my orange or black pads. These are probably fine for less critical areas and where venting is a higher priority than maximum protection.

I hope to never need to review the ultimate functionality of these knee pads. However, I can review the basic functionality now. The pads slipped readily into the knee pockets of my riding pants. The design allows for good air flow. I have only been out riding once with these new knee pads but they were comfortable and stayed in place well.
