Sareva 122876 Poffertjes Cast Iron Pan

Having lived in the Netherlands for a while where poffertjes are a popular street food I learned the trick with using one of these pans is grease it well, lard works best but failing that you can brush with vegetable oil, heat it to a high temperature, have your batter to hand along with a long, 2 tine fork to turn the mini pancakes with and be prepared to move fast. Only pour enough batter to nearly fill the wells you can manage at one time then as soon as you see puffing start, flip them over in the order of pouring. Only flip once as they can deflate if you jab with a fork the second time. Be careful if you are using a short 2-tine fork especially if it has a metal handle as contact with the pan is not pleasant.To serve make sure there is plenty of butter and icing sugar. My opinion is these have to be eaten directly they come off the pan as they don’t taste right cold or reheated, it is better to slightly over-egg the batter and add a little raising agent into commercial pancake mixes except the American style ones like Betty Crockers mixes.This pan itself is cast iron so works on my induction hob or gas pits. The induction hob gives better heat disbursement through the whole pan the idea is not to get ‘hot spots’. The pan is very heavy which does stop it wiggling but in the event it does need to be moved some sort of non metal grip or handle would be good. I had to leave the pan a while after cooking to cool down before cleaning but that was not a problem as there were poffertjes to enjoy at the time. There was no nasty burn-off smell when using the first time and a gentle clean with hot water and a fairy liquid filled sponge was enough to get the oil and batter spills off. I would imagine the pan would loose some of its non-stick qualities if scoured enthusiastically but I can’t see it breaking in my lifetime

Very solid. Base is completely flat so no stability issues sitting on any type of cooker. Heating was good and even and the poffertjes came out perfectly.The only real downsides are due to the use of cast iron (which I knew beforehand and expected), not anything fundamental to the design or manufacture. Being cast iron, it is pretty hefty and needs TLC to make sure it doesn't rust. It also takes longer to heat up initially and cool down afterwards. I have yet to master the art of getting it up to temperature as fast as possible without making the pan so hot that the first poffertjes in are ready to turn before I've finished filling them all, but practice makes perfect (...and more poffertjes!).If I could change one thing, it would be to have a heat-proof handle (wood or plastic) but, at this price, I have no complaints: no frills and very little to go wrong.

Too small for my purpose of using for my recipe. I want my refund and someone to collect the item from my door! I can’t post it with my expense.

The holes are tiny and shallow. Not very useful for what I needed it for. Thought it is made with quality material.

Nachdem wir schon einige Jahre nicht in Holland waren, haben wie Holland Urlaub nach Hause gebracht. Vor der Erstbenutzung eine halbe Stunde mit Öl einbrennen. Abkühlen lassen und es kann los gehen. Hat super funktioniert.

Voor deze prijs een hele goede poffertjes pan. Alleen raar aantal van 19 poffertjes,hoe deel je dit?

No entiendo que pasa porque la sartén funciona muy bien.
