Beautiful pictures and loaded with coloring information
This is a wonderful coloring book especially if your new to Greyscale. Jane Maday’s pictures are lovely. The paper is the perfect thickness and they are only on one side of paper and have perforated edges if you want to pull out the picture. Her other book, the paper is to thin. There are instructions in this book to help you learn greyscale and practice pictures in the front and back. She also has colored pictures in the back to help you decide colors. That is really a big help. I belong to a “Coloring and Conversation” club at our local library . We meet once a month. This book was a great hit and we all have one and share our progress. One of the ladies is 85 years young and her pictures are wonderful. We use all coloring media. Mostly pencils from the very expensive, Faber-Castell, Prisma, Crazy Art Timeless and Crayola and even gel pens for something we want to stand out. Chalk and watercolors also. You won’t be disappointed with this book.

So Adorable! Get Two!
Adorable! I can't wait to give this coloring book more focus, as I have only done a couple of the pictures so far. You are free with this to add more detail if you want, and I only use colored pencils, so cannot speak to other media like gel pens or markers, but it takes pencil well. I always use backsheets to keep indentations from happening to the next page since intense colors will likely leave an indent of some sort. But other than the usual common sense things, this is a very satisfying coloring book if you love coloring adorable animals. Some have had a problem with grayscale in general, but I didn't. I think it adds to the spectrum of coloring options out there.I use Crayola 50-count pencils, and have some larger sets that are other brands, but roughly the same type of pencils. I like to mix my own colors, so 50-count is my minimum, and I love this coloring book and the possibilities already hinted at in the two pictures I've done, and the others I can't wait to do.Be prepared to order this book more than once, because there are several pictures I want to color different ways, and my printer lightens the gray too much.

My favourite book, and I own a lot
My favourite book, and I own a lot. You get comprehensive tutorials, perforated pages and good paper, but the real selling point is the artist's work. The animals drawn in this book are simply beautiful, so realistic they almost jump off the page. There are beautiful backgrounds to accompany the animals and the grayscale is perfect, not too light or dark. I even bought two copies of this book, one to give away and now I'm keeping both, so will have to buy another for my sister. Eagerly awaiting more books from this artist.

Fabulous Coloring Book
I just received Adorable Animals Grayscale Coloring Book by Jane Maday. Its fabulous, I cant wait to start coloring. She has pages with instructions on comparison of coloring mediums, transparent vs opaque and many more There are page with suggested coloring also. Pages are just the right shading and adorable drawings. The paper is all one sides and of good quality. I love that the pages are perforated and will make beautiful pictures for framing. I think this is one of the best adult coloring books I have purchased. Love your work and looking forward to seeing more in the grayscale.

great quality and so much fun
This is a great grayscale book! Actually, it's by far the best I own of the 4 I've bought over the past week. The paper is a really nice quality. It's heavy enough I can use my watercolor brush markers without any bleeding (although as usual, this is not true of alcohol markers), and the page doesn't buckle from the moisture. Of course, the art is also fantastic. And there's a lot of it!This was my first grayscale book, so I picked a couple of the pages I liked a little less just to practice on. My first try with colored pencils was not really to my liking...but when I used watercolor brush pens and layered the pencil on top for shading, I think the result was really fantastic. I included a photo of the first one I did. It's not perfect, but it's the best looking colored page I've ever done.Overall, I think if the art is your style, you will love this book. Don't be afraid to try all different pens and markers, and have a little faith. It seems like sometimes with grayscale, you color in a small area and it doesn't look great...but keep going! Try different combinations of colors. I was really surprised by the results I got with very little practice and just a little persistence. If you're looking for a good grayscale coloring book, maybe one of the best, don't hesitate to buy this one. It's worth it! :)

This is a very cute book, all of the artwork is beautiful. The beginning few pages of the book have good explanations for how to color in greyscale, with some practice areas as well. In the back of the book are all of the pictures in their fully colored form, to use as inspiration or color reference. The only odd thing I've noticed is that watercolor tends to bead up on the paper.

Purrfect
This is such a pretty book. The pictures are printed well, not fuzzy or too dark as some grayscale are. Really nice paper, printed on one side, and perforated for easy removal. The color guides in the back are nice too, both for the birds and flowers.

Grayscale isn't clear for part of the book
There are pictures in the back of the book which suggest how to color the pages. So I was excited to start. But three quarters of the pages were too light and blurry for me to see. The first two pages are great and then the rest aren't consistent in how the greyscale is printed. I'm not sure if I got a dud copy and I should try ordering another one, but there are so many coloring books I want to buy I'm not motivated to give this another chance.
