Confusing, especially the end
The description of the book sounded promising, and of course I had heard of the author, though I have previously read only one other book by him. Thus, also, many of the characters that appear in other books were unknown to me. The beginning of the book, though a little unexpected, was very promising, fast-paced, and quite funny. However, to me the plot unravels as the book moves along, and becomes more mystifying and les logical. Towards the end, more or less unconnected short statements make me wonder whether the author was ill (apparently a possibility) or had smoked something interesting. Not satisfying, I would not read it again, and do not recommend it.

Not one of his best
You should not speak ill of the dead, but I'm sure Mr Heinlein suffered worse reviews in his lifetime................Mr Heinlein ties together the number of the beast characters, the Lazarus Long family, the Stones from his moon books and then one new character. It is all a bit unsatisfactory - stick to Stranger in a Strange Land and Time Enough For Love. I managed to pick up the Stone books from a charity shop - don't bother reading those either. This one is for the fans only.
