My almost 3 year old had his for 2 years! And it’s intact (other than a little bit of blue paint that I couldn’t removed, but oh lord , if it does not break we are not changing) My 6 month old have had his since he was a newborn , all we did was cut the ends a little and tie a knot at each end after. My son was a micropreemie , 11inchss long , 1 pound ! When he came home we put it on at only 8lbs . So yes, this fits a baby and a 3 year old ! I’ve gifted many to different friends and they have loved them!
