This review is for the dual mode version with the soft flame plus purple torch flame.I have been looking for a lighter with electronic ignition. Not Piezo, an actual battery powered spark. This one does that. I wanted a soft flame, check. The torch is a bonus. For a pipe smoker this thing would be ideal. Some pipes/tobaccos work better with a soft flame, others need a torch. No pipe needs a multi-head torch. Too much flame will burn the rim of the bowl.Anyway I am using this lighter to light my Zippo handwarmers. The soft flame is just perfect. It is far more reliable than a Zippo lighter. Yes, I said that. My Zippo lighters need refilling evey time I pick one up and try to use it. The SomGem has worked every time.My main complaint is the lack of a sight window. I can't tell it is empty until it quits. I also can't tell if I get it full. The first time I filled it I only got about 5 lights, then it went out.btw, here is a tip for filling a butane lighter: chill the lighter in the fridge, but keep the butane can at room temperature. This will create a much higher pressure in the can than the lighter. Filling will be almost instant. You can also warm the butane can in your hands or pocket. Never heat it beyond body temperature!Now here is a thought for the manufacturers: wouldn't it be cool if someone made a lighter head that would screw onto one of those Thermacell(tm) butane cylinders? It would hold a ton of fuel, and you could also see the level remaining. Come to think of it, a torch head would also be useful. I have lots of stuff like this on my wish list.Anyway I like/recommend this lighter. It is very unique, fun, and functional. That is what lighters are about.oop, forgot to mention, the #4 flat screwdriver bit out of that bit kit that you have fits the flame adjustment screw perfectly.

Appears well built and is very attractive although does not work and shot fire out of every crevice and crack in the lighter except for where it's supposed to come out of and about set me on fire

Got the first lighter was unable to fill it. And it would not light. Got another one same problem. The only trouble shooting included with directions say to make sure battery is in on position. But doesn't tell you how to do so. Very disappointed, cool looking lighter that doesn't work.Update: so turns out if you read the instructions and see the part where you need a longer butane tip, resolves all issues

I bought extra batteries just in case but came with a new china battery. Still running after a month. Use for smoking the pipe. Little tricky at first as when you let go of ignite button the flame changes from torch to regular flame. Easy to use once you get to know it but if a friend asks to use it, it is funny watching them try to figure it out before they ask. Butane goes semi quickly depending on use small tank.Once in a while the gas valve doesn’t open all the way, so close and reopen works fine.

Light a few times, stopped. Will not light. Going to send back, started a return. Was in the hospital a week, missed my window. Should have listened to review. It has a bulldog, I have a bulldog. 🫥

When you light it the lighter has flames coming out all over.actually it would not light. Had to put next to another flame.There must be a line inside lighter that is not connected. Please send a schematic for inside lighter. Would rather not go through sending it back and waiting for new one or getting fixed and shipped back. Really do not want another one. It is not a quality lighter

Love this lighter/torch I'm always looking for torches that don't have that loud ass click when you light it, and this one is even quieter than the electric torches which to me were the quietest ones I've ever came across until this one it's like one little small sound and then just quiet the whole time but you do got to be careful because as soon as you're done holding the button for the torch it goes automatically to the soft flame so you got to be careful of your face especially if the flame is up to high, but overall it's my new favorite torch that Ive ever had. I wish they came in multiple colors so I could buy multiple of them.

Easy to fill and to adjust. I've used this on pipes and cigars and found it helps create an even toast and a clean burn. A plus is that a battery powers the igniter so less moving parts to break down. Switch from jet to soft flame could be better built. The company would sell more if they made similar lighters in silver, gold, black and white without the dog and the motto. They could double the thickness of the lighter, thus increasing tank size but also allowing room to add a cigar punch to the lighter. Over all a good job.
