Not very sturdy.
It worked great until the second time it rained and I used it. It was draining my pool cover fairly well and about 2/3 submerged. Then it stopped working. I cleaned out the filters and it still wouldn’t go on when submerged it 2 “ deep. I pulled it off the cover and shook it, and something was rattling around inside, following which I turned it upside down and it went on. I turned it right side up and went back off, and upside down and it went on again. Unfortunately, there’s no volute to suck water in on the top, so I can’t use it upside down (unless it’s in 8 “ of water ,I guess). It’s broken, I haven’t heard back from Sunnora yet.

Good Little Workhorse
This 350 GPH works well for our light California rain but is too small for my 1000 sq ft cover when the rain gets heavy. I have a second pump at 800 GPH to handle the excess. I like the sponge pad that filters out the debris and allows the water to be pumped into the pool.I've owned this same pump design from a different vendor. That pump had a weak, plastic drive shaft to the impeller that eventually broke. This design appears to have improved the shaft. The design also has a tendency to suck itself tightly to the pool cover material and stop pumping water. I've overcome that by tying a 1/4" rope around and underneath it to provide spacing.

Beast!
Surprised by this small beast of a machine. Works flawlessly for hours. Now able to completely clean out all the water off my pool covers. Only draw back is you have to manually turn it off. Need to know how long it would take to drain the water. I usually plug it in for a couple of hours and it usually does the job. If it gets blocked with mud just unplug and rinse the sponge with some fresh water from a hose and it’s back to working fine. Great product and would definitely recommend it.
