Oem replacement for toro
My zoro zmaster with the 23 hp Kawasaki should symptoms of clicking when turning the key. Battery voltage was good and the battery is maintained by trickle charge. Felt the solenoid while turning the key and it βclickedβ but failed to transmit current to the starter. Got the part number from the manufacturer.Installed the new solenoid and was up and running within minutes. While you have everything disassembled, if you have a jump box, apply 12vdc + to the starter hot post and apply gnd to the - neg battery terminal. The starter should crank. If it fails to crank when power and grounded, the starter is bad. This will apply to about all electrically started gas engines.

Failed after 2 days. Cheap materials? Other problem elsewhere? Working to solve this puzzle.
Looks like original. Fits perfectly. Shortly after install devolved same systems as original solenoid. It allows some current to the starter but not enough to turn the engine over to start it. This suggests not enough amps getting through the contacts on the solenoid to allow the starter to start the engine. This could be due to too much amperage being required due to a defective starter or poor material used in the solenoid which disintegrated under the normal amperage required to start the engine. It spins like a top if I jumper the battery to starter contact on the top of the solenoid so it appears for now, that the starter is up to the job. If you have ever solved this puzzle please reply to this review. Thank you.

Troubleshoot First
After doing proper troubleshooting, like jumping the starter motor to rule in the relay and rule out the starter motor and making sure power gets to the starter "S" terminal you can pretty much determine the solenoid is the problem, unless the battery is weak. However, mower immediately started after replacing this solenoid. Keep in mind many Toro mowers have 20 and 30 amp fuses in line with the key and starter solenoid, check fuses first. Not sure if other mowers have the same wiring design, get a schematic or back trace the wire.

Defected part
Ordered for Toro mower, part was installed easily but did not work. Checked and rechecked the install, but again part did not work. Went to a local auto part store purchased the same part, installed it, and worked it works perfectly. Amazon did a quick refund. I'm sure this happens with a lot of these types of parts, so buyer beware. Other reviews state no issues.

Replaced Toro part easily
This was a very easy part to replace. Installed exactly the same as the OEM Toro part taking only a few minutes on my Timecutter SS4235. So far working fine after several months, mowing once every 5-6 days.
