GEAppliances WB13K18 Spark Electrode

VERY GOOD

The replacement was a perfect replacement for a faltering spark electrode on my ~16 year old GE XL44 gas range. The hardest part was figuring out how to lift the range top because it is not clearly explained in the manual. For my model, JGBP30WEW1WW, remove the single "star" screw near each burner, then "push" in the left and right front release clamp that holds the range cooktop to the main stove unit. I found a two putty knives worked well; one to protect the paint surface of the main stove unit and the other to push in on the clamp. Pull up on the cooktop while pushing in on the clamp - first on one side, then repeat on the other side. Its easy to figure out how to disengage the two pins at the back of the cooktop from the stove unit in order to give one more working access under the cooktop, if needed. The wire easily pulls off the defective spark electrode but one or two small screw drivers may be needed to remove the wire clip that holds the electrode in place on the bottom side of the cooktop.

It does what it's supposed to do, but it fit just a little differently than the original. But, it is tight and stable in the hole and puts out a good spark.
