I have hard clay and have been trying to find a way to work in compost without tilling up the lawn. This works great at aerating the lawn and allowing compost to work its way down into the clay.

I absolutely love using this core aerator and really like that it’s stainless steel. The soil I have in this area is a very dense clay and silt mix that sticks to everything. I’ve had multiple other brands that end up getting so clogged That I have to use a drill to remove the plugs stuck inside the tines if the moisture isn’t perfect which ultimately them to be thrown out. I have a soil sampler probe from the same brand that works great that has yet to get a plug stuck, so far I haven’t been disappointed with this aerator.

Sturdy. Good welds. Works in clay dirt with a bit of water. If you’re over 6’0 this is going to hurt your back. As it was asked in the movie Zoolander, “what is this a tool for ants?!”

The product is preassembled. Feels and looks very sturdy. The spike length is actually 3.5", not just 3 as stated in their specifications. That was a pleasant surprise. The total unit length of 34 inches is perfect for my height, too. Love what I got.

Bought this a while ago and just got around to using it. Sadly, it doesn’t work as I hoped, one side seems to repeatedly clog and you have to clean out the core with a screwdriver and then plug again. Not ideal at all even if you’re just looking to aerate a small area.

I had a different one before that was horrible. This one is easy to use, still need to use some muscle, but the material and design are good.

Does what it's supposed to. What more can you ask?

It broke after just one pass of our small back lawn. The welds failed where the handle meets the base.
