It was comfortable but the fabric ripped during the first canoe trip
It worked great but the seat cover fabric ripped!

So consider that if thats what you like. For me I would prefer a shorter back ...
This is a quality product. Some folks complain that it blocks their view during portage. Mine is in the back so thats not a problem but the back is to tall for my liking. If you want to lay back and relax it would be an advantage. So consider that if thats what you like.For me I would prefer a shorter back because all I want is some support for my lower back now and then. It wont lay down on the seat cushion which is good when you get in because you dont have to fight with it to stay in position when you enter.When you turn the conoe over on land its kind of in the way since it stands so tall and you need to constantly force it to lay forward by lifting the canoe and pulling the back out of the way.Just my personal experience. Take it into consideration and if you want the extra back support this item is great. And the butt cushion is just right. Firm but forgiving.

this is a nice product and it sits well
The chair has 2 rigid bars (removable) that support the sides. Mine shipped with only 1 of the bars, so it sits lop-sided. This is probably just a fluke. I plan to fabricate my own replacement bar. Otherwise, this is a nice product and it sits well.

It's very comfortable when paddling
It's very comfortable when paddling, the only thing I don't like is the straps that hold to my canoe seat will loosen up, straps should run the other direction.

It's ok. It does provide support when sitting straight up, but if your try to lean back a bit, it's worthless. Also, the whole back of the seat is purple. I didn't realize that. The front is brown, but the whole back is purple. Why?
