Excellent product
Like all the garden of life products I have used, this is a great product. I used to buy a store brand that used darker flaxseeds. I definitely prefer the golden flaxmeal. I used to buy it at a local co-op but moved out of state and can't find it in store here so I ordered it from Amazon.

Tastes very fresh. Best ground flax I've tried.
I've bought other brands of ground flax seeds and they all had a fishy odor and flavor to me...so that strong taste often prevented me from using very much of it and I determined that all varieties of flax seeds must taste the same.I like that this particular ground flax is very sweet tasting...Not sweet like sugar, but pleasant and appealingcompared to the intense flavors of the other brands I've tried...And I have been buying ground organic flax seeds, trying different brands and I didn't like any of them. I tried grinding my own flax but found it annoying and time consuming...and rather messy.Based simply on comparative prices, this time I bought Garden of Life's flax...It seemed reasonable and I generally liketo make flax eggs for baking and also a portion of my dry mixture used to make muffins or pancakes contains more fiber when I add 1/4 cup of ground flax .What I especially like about Garden of Life ground flax is that the seeds are finely ground to a very light powder.Nothing chewy or flax-y tasting whatsoever. I've started making flax crackers, using nothing but ground flax, seasoned with various herbs like garlic powder, sea salt, oregano, or Italian spices *mix well...and then added about 1/2 cup of water to the 1 cup of flax...When I mixed the water into the flax, it's a thick "dough" which resembles thetexture of a chocolate chip cookie batter...(maybe a little thicker) but it should hold together well and shouldn't be crumbly....Then I press the entire mixture into an 8x8 baking pan. Getting it evenly because you want all the crackersto be the same thickness....Thinner crackers require a slightly larger pan...Too thin and they'll burn when baking.Preheat the oven to 400 ....score the pan of flattened out flax mixture into about 16 squares ...and bake...I bakefor about 20 minutes, flip over the whole mixture with a flat pancake turner..(check to make sure nothing isburning)...let it bake another few minutes and lower temp if you see it's baking too fast...THEN...turn off the oven and let the crackers get dry while sitting there as the oven cools down. If still baking too fast, take the pan out of theoven until the temperature gets lower in the oven.....Takes a few hours until they become crackers rather than soft moist pieces you can still bend.My oven has a convention setting...the air dries them out quicker.. They can also be baked in an air fryer...a toaster oven...just as long you keep an eye on them. When cool, I put them in a baggie and put it in my freezer so I don't eat the whole batch...Too much fiber if you try do that..I also recommend drinking more fluid when you eat a lot of flax seeds...You want regularity, not a blob sitting in yourintestines, gumming them up...I will definitely keep buying this brand...It's reasonable and I like the flavor.

Great for daily Omega-3 and fiber!
This organic cold milled golden flaxseed meal mixes very easily into my morning oatmeal. It's basically ground golden flaxseed. It's said to have a mild, nutty flavor. I can't taste it because I mix a bunch of other stuff into my oatmeal too. I've also heard of it being used for an egg substitute for baking vegan or vegetarian items. I haven't tried that yet. You can easily sprinkle it on salads, cereal, yogurts, or mix it into smoothies. What ever creative way you can think of.Per serving, it contains 3g Dietary Fiber, 3g of Omega-3s, 1g Omega-6s, 1g Omega-9s, Beneficial Antioxidant Lignans (98mg), and 3g protein. It's a great way to increase you fiber and Omega-3 intake!

title a bit misleading
i was expecting whole flaxseeds, as the first part of the title says 'flaxseeds.' i now see that this is followed by 'flaxmeal.' i was therefore disappointed when flaxmeal arrived since that has a shorter shelflife. i later learned that refrigerating it helps to extend its life. fortunately, i used it up quickly, so that wasn't an issue. i used it in smoothies to increase my fiber intake. i've since switched to chia seeds as they have even more, but i like the taste of flax better!

Texture like a type of brown sugar
The texture is very similar to a type of brown sugar I got but obviously without the sweetness and the calories. If you don't like the texture, you can mix it well in hot, cooked (microwaved) oatmeal so that you don't even notice it at all. I did notice some benefits such as feeling satiated and metamucil-like effects on bowel movements. The packaging does suck though as mentioned by other reviewers. The ziplock tab doesn't work and you'll probably need to use clips to seal them and store them in the fridge.Overall, I recommend it. Difficult to go wrong with this.

Very tasty flax. Will purchase again.
I am trying to improve my diet and flax seed is something that kept coming up in a diet to address my needs. I thought I did not like flax seed after trying it along time ago. I decided on this brand after reading the reviews. I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoy adding it to my yogurt daily. I actually look forward to it. I think the taste is mild and it adds a nice consistency. I will continue experimenting with it in other dishes. I will definitely purchase this again.

Item OK Amazon rip off
I just received my 6 bags of Flax seed that I ordered. I have nothing to say against the item itself or shipping but why is it that all the prices were pulled off on every bag? Is it because rip off Amazon is charging waaaaaay more for canadians than what it's being sold in the states? This is not my first purchase at Amazon and lately I've noticed more and more rip off no exchange no service from Amazon therefore that's it I've had it. I'll get my stuff somewhere else and yup I just discovered that I paid more than twice the price in canadian fund talk about a rip off. You can get it way cheaper at IHerb even with the exchange and customs
