Osprey's women's specific Celeste is equally at home on backcountry hikes or running errands downtown. Plenty of well-designed pockets and sturdy construction make this daypack a mid-sized favorite. The mesh shoulder harness and back panel provide comfort even when the pack is fully loaded with gear or heavy electronics. A removable webbing hip belt adds extra stability for heavier loads and vanishes when you're traveling light. Inside the panel-access main compartment, you'll find laptop and tablet sleeves to protect your devices. Storage options include side and front stretch mesh pockets and a zippered front panel pocket. There's also an upper slash pocket to corral your sunglasses and other small items. Should your adventures keep you out past dark, clip a blinker light to the pack's rear attachment point for extra nocturnal visibility. Review: A great, versatile day bag (on the larger size...) - Bought this for a safari trip -- so needed it for a) airplane carry-on for 2 overnight flights b) general luggage and c) safari in-jeep daytrips. It performed well! Hip strap was comfortable for the few times I carried it. On the plane: it's a little larger than one would like but it DOES fit under the seat. LOTS of pockets are a huge plus on the plane. (Les digging around in the dark for phone, cables, kindle, snacks, sweater, water, etc.) Handles on 2 sides makes it easier to manuever. (Of note, there's an internal padded sleeve, which made carrying 2 Kindles a snap.) The bag has tightening straps to minimize the size -- great for under the seat, and also for keeping Airline Gate Agents from saying that it is too large, and must be checked. In the hotel: it's generously sized, so I can actually pack clothing into it. Steel water bottles, pants, DSLR camera, books, all fit nicely. I didn't try shoes, but I suspect given the internal dividers, that they would be a tough fit. On the safari: awesome. IN the mornings you need a jacket, hat and gloves. Throughout the day, as it warms up, you need to remove your multiple layers. All day, you need water and snacks. You need your camera equipment. You need somewhere to keep personal medicines, toiletries. Tjis was great. 2 external water bottle pouches were perfect. Most pockets have great pull tabs for easy opening. Quality: I don't know the Osprey brand, but this bag feels sturdy. The nylon is substantial. The seams are double stitched. The zippers are strong, large plastic. The bag has solid padding in straps and back. There is reinforcing nylon in high contact areas. Future: I won't have a lot of use for this in my regular day-to-day. It's on the larger side. More than I need for school or work. Not great in the city on the subway. But, for car trips of 4+ hours, it will be perfect. And of course, the next safari! Review: Essential travel pack - Perfect for traveling. I took this on a month long trip to Asia - it fit flawlessly into overhead bins, trunks, and basically everywhere. The adjustable waist and chest straps make carrying a pack around so much more enjoyable. It easily held my laptop, souvenirs, and a weeks worth of clothing. There's a nice separation of pockets which really came in handy for keys, sunglasses, wallet, chargers, etc. It could also hold its own against the rain, and has been super durable. My only concern is the top handle seems to pull on the seems a lot when it's fully packed, so I didn't feel 100% comfortable using that as a handle. I preferred to attach or stick other items through it instead. The upper side straps also doubled nicely as mat/blanket holders for me, which saved a lot of pocket space.

Got it for my Mother for her traveling and she loves it! Great bag!
I got this for my Mother for Christmas last year and she loves it! She mainly needed a backpack she could travel with and take on the plane as well as store a fair amount of things. She travels often and brings a lot and her old backpack was bulky and not very good. Knowing Osprey as i have used their bags for years for backpacking and mountain biking i knew this bag would be good quality. It has great storage while still having a small footprint and is comfortable and fits underneath the seat on a plane.

Irritating
The material making up the shoulder straps is very rough and irritates my skin when I wear a tank top. Good quality though.

Nicely scaled for a smaller frame
FEATURES: Bought this pack for a 2-week trip to Greece, used it every day and loved it. It's lightweight and the variety of storage pockets and sleeves make sense. The tablet pocket is suspended so it protects the device from hitting the ground when the pack is set down. Fit my iPad Air and its protective cover perfectly. The unique feature of having a padded carrying handle on the front in addition to the top handle sold me on this particular pack when I was comparing similar items. Makes it easy to lift into an overhead bin and carry like a carry-on bag. Its size fits within US and European airline limits for a personal carry-on item. The construction and stitching are excellent. SIZE AND FIT: This bag is scaled for a smaller frame. I am 5'2" and weigh 108# and I cinched the shoulder straps and chest strap almost all the way closed to fit me perfectly. Someone smaller might want to consider a kid's pack, but this one fits me comfortably and correctly. I think that the size of the pack would comfortably fit someone a few inches taller and pounds heavier --the cinch straps are very long. SECURITY: The zipper pulls have a large enough hole for you to secure them closed with small carabiners (which I did) or travel locks. The straps and fabric are not slash-proof. DRAWBACK: The only issue that kept me from giving this pack a 5-star rating is the fabric on the inside of the straps. It's supposed to keep the straps from slipping, which it does; however, it's a bit abrasive on bare skin if you're wearing a tank top. I'll have to figure out how to make covers for the straps if I'm going to be using the pack during the summer. BOTTOM LINE: After spending two weeks on the road with this pack, would I buy it again? The pros outweigh the cons (especially if I can whip together covers for the straps for summer use) so I'd definitely buy it again. It's a good value.

The size
Too small, I felt like I was back in elementary school.

Great for work!
I purchased a few different backpacks searching for one to use as a laptop bag and hold my lunch as well as other purse items for work. This fits my Lenovo laptop, notebook, lunch, coffee, water and anything else I would need on a day to day basis. It also has plenty of room, which I'll appreciate on trips. It's light but very comfortable and has more than enough padding without making it bulky. I also tried the Osprey Talia but found I didn't like the kickstand feature and it looked strange without the backpack being totally full (also worried about the structure making it tough to squeeze under airplane seats). The Dakine and eBags backpacks I tried were bulky and not nearly as comfortable as this.

My first Osprey, but definitely not my last!
After much searching and debating on what type/size/brand of backpack to get for my 10 day hiking trip around the Alps, I'm very happy with my decision! - This backpack was very comfortable, even when stuffed full and heavy (2 liter Camelbak, rain coat, extra clothes ((socks, pants, pullovers, gloves, hat, etc)), snacks, DSLR camera, first aid kit, etc). - The hip strap is narrow, but I did not have any discomfort from it. - It did get soaked on the days we got stuck out in the rain, but everything inside stayed dry (I did still keep my camera in a dry sack, just to be safe). I plan to get a waterproof backpack cover for future trips, just for added protection. - It worked as an excellent carry-on also, and would fit in both overhead bins and under the seat! *These were just day hikes, nothing overnight!*

Very good for taller people
This is an excellent laptop backpack - plenty of compartments and good adjustment options. My one quibble is that when loaded, it tends to hang a bit low on me - I'm 5'5" tall, but have a short torso, so perhaps it would fit a taller or longer-backed woman rather better.

Toller Rucksack
