A fitting conclusion to the trilogy with a couple of twists
The final volume in the Winter Woods trilogy brings a conclusion to the supernatural events confronting Summer and her twin sister Winter in the town of Harmony, Indiana. Followed on from the previous books with no letup in the non stop action with ever increasing levels of fantasy. Told in a style the events are taken at face value, where there is little time for questioning or incredulity. Maybe lacking in some emotional depth as a result, I still enjoyed going along for the adventure and "following the crow" Poe, the Crow in question, is key to the story unfolding and is a constant character throughout the combined 600 pages give or take, so I was surprised when on page 185 of Corvus for the first and only time Poe is referred to as "a blue eyed Jackdaw". From previous descriptive references Poe is an all black Carrion Crow, albeit with blue rather than brown eyes, which to my mind is fair artistic license in this genre. However a Jackdaw is smaller, with silver grey feathers around the back and neck and I doubt Poe would take kindly to the downsizing. None of which makes any difference, but when you get caught up in the story it stood out.
