Hello, These scissors can be sharpened but is recommended to be done by a sharpener who specializes in scissors and not just with knife. The "HAYATE YOSHIHIRO" website says it's "made in Japan". If this is true, then it's made in Japan; else it's not made in Japan. Could it be China? Korea? U.S.A.?

Hello, Yes, these would be able to cut through chicken and beef. However, we would suggest avoid trying to cut through larger bones and instead go along through the joints or parts that aren't as tough.
