Renjerians (dragons) and Earthlings (humans) share both history and a common enemy. In terms of shared history, the Renjerians used to live on Earth at one point until the relationship soured; so, most Renjerians left. But, they still share a common enemy, called demons on Earth and Tryns on the Renjerians' planet. On Earth, Ash (short for Ashley) has a personal vendetta against the demons/Tryns and works diligently to destroy them. After an encounter with one goes awry, Ash subsequently ends up on the Renjerians' planet via a link to a Renjerian named Taurian, who Grams (her grandmother) linked her to in a previous book. Once there, Ash meets Xilon, a brother of Taurian, and the brief encounter is enough for Xilon and Ash to feel a spark, before they are separated. They end up back together, but work overtime to battle the Tryns/demons, namely the leader, who has plans to breed Ash. Neither Ash, Xilon, nor Grams are having any of it, however, and may have the weapons needed to turn the tide in the Renjerians' and Earthlings' favor.Ash was strong, yet vulnerable and willing to be open to love. While she was obstinate at times, she did so to protect those she loved- and I didn't find her overly combative or TSTL, as is the case with some heroines in romance novels. She had an inner and outer strength (could kick butt & take names) and was a great match with Xilon, who is both honorable and fearless. I found this book to be well-written, humorous, and fast-paced.. Overall, this was great story that was worth reading and served my craving for romance, action, the paranormal, and a HEA.

Caught outside in a storm one night, she is transported to another world by lightening. She fights off demon Tryns and then meets up with a dragon, Xilon.A read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Lots of fast paced action and intrigue. Love how Ash was such a fiesty human not afraid to threaten a dragon. Read it through it one sitting and would definitely recommend it to others.
