Nice kit, directions have you add too much water though.
This is a great, convenient kit, the only issue is that the amount of water is WAY too much. I had to wring out the substrate prior to putting in the tub.

Convenient CVG mix that works well, but watch the water ratio
This is a really convenient substrate mix for people who want a simple all-in-one CVG setup without having to buy separate bags of coco coir, vermiculite, and gypsum individually. Everything comes pre-mixed and ready to hydrate, which makes the whole preparation process much easier, especially for newer growers. The substrate itself seems clean and well blended overall. It holds moisture nicely, breaks apart easily after hydrating, and works well in monotubs, grow bags, and other setups. The texture feels balanced enough to promote good airflow and moisture retention without turning muddy or compacted. One of the better things about this mix is the convenience factor. Just adding water and pasteurizing is much simpler than measuring everything yourself, and it saves a lot of time for smaller grows or casual hobby use. It also stores well while dry, so you can prepare it whenever needed instead of worrying about substrate going bad. Performance-wise, the substrate seems to colonize well and supports healthy growth when conditions are dialed in correctly. Multiple reviewers also mentioned clean batches with no contamination issues from the substrate itself. The biggest thing to be aware of is the water instructions. The recommended amount seems too high for many batches and can leave the substrate overly wet if followed exactly. Itโs better to add water gradually and check field capacity manually instead of dumping in the full recommended amount immediately. Once adjusted properly though, the mix performs well. For larger or long-term grows, buying raw ingredients separately will definitely be cheaper overall. But for convenience, simplicity, and smaller-scale setups, this works very well and removes a lot of guesswork from preparing CVG substrate. Overall, this is a solid ready-to-mix substrate option with good moisture retention, easy preparation, reliable performance, and great convenience for beginner and intermediate growers alike.

Great substrate mix
Mix is clean and free of contamination. Holds moisture very well. Mix is easy to make and can be use in grow bags and tubs. Can be used for different types of mushrooms. Mushroom grow really well in the mix. Can be used in different size grow bags and tubs. Mix can have extra things added like compost, ashes, straw, sawdust and others. I would buy this mix again.

Good substrate mix, but overpriced
This is good and convenient, but after buying one of these, I went and bought a 10lb block of coir, large bags of vermiculite and gypsum, and spent far less to make far more substrate. I prefer a coarser vermiculite than what came in this kit. The super fine vermiculite gets all over everything and it's a pain to remove. The mushrooms I grew with this mix did fantastic, so the mix is good, just too expensive for a serious grower.

Better items are out there
Perfect for making substrate for mycology. Although I did have a contamination when using this product. Instructions were very easy and the price wasn't too bad. I just wasn't very happy with the outcome

The weight is inaccurate
After noticing that the mixture is wetter then it should be by following sufin spores directions for the product after 4 different times i decided to measure each product gypsum is sopost to be 200g but while still in the original packaging I found the weight to be 202g after package was dumped out it only weighed 195g also found that coconut coir and vermiculite where also off by about 16g each i went to sufin spores website and purchased 2 more and weighed each one and found that they are off by 8-18g each while I understand you can't have perfection every time I believe it's more off then correct while this doesn't seem like a big deal since you can alway add more coco coir to soak up the extra water it means you either need to use less water when mixing you cvg or buy extra to add witch also cost more money

Great product
I was very happy with the kit. It arrived early and is very affordable and is working out well for me. I was able to make 2 12 quart tubs with the kit. My only complaint is that the recommended water amount was way to much . Will definitely be purchasing this again soon.

good
Overall it is good for starters, but watch some YouTube videos just to make sure. For me the amount of water in instruction was a bit more than it needed.
