Unnecessarily big, check out their updated "Pro" mount
I own this version and am quite happy with its functionality. It's more-or-less permanently mounted to the CD slot of my Audi Allroad, whose CD changer I never use. This Koomus comes with three sets of pads of different thicknesses to fit CD slot openings of different heights. I traveled with this once, installing it in a Toyota mini van, and the fit was considerably looser, despite the insertion mechanism that opens to fill the available space. I didn't bring the other sizes of pads with me, and am not offering this as a criticism, but just pointing out there are various sizes of vehicles to fit.My chief complaint is the huge molded plastic base of this mount -- it's quite wide, and also somewhat fat. It all seems unnecessary, especially considering how comparatively svelte dimensions of the updated model of this product. This extra size doesn't have much impact on usability -- in fact, the mount is quite stable and quiet in use -- but it does make quite the chunk that has to be stored in the center console or packed in a carry-on bag from time to time. The clamp that holds the phone is secure, yet after some practice is easy to use one-handed. The clamp is small enough that I can fit my Motorola Turbo into it without any inadvertent button presses. The ball swivel on the back side allows for very easy rotation from portrait to landscape mode, without having to tighten or loosen any clamps. Yet the phone never bounces, rotates, or drops, no matter how rough the driving. The notion of jamming a phone mount into my CD slot seemed crazy just a year or so ago, but times have changed, and since March, the only thing I've used my CD player for on this car is... THIS. It's not to say you can't play CDs and use a Koomus CD player mount, but I don't think you'll be happy yanking this out of the slot with any regularity. So if you're still attached to your discs, keep that under consideration. But if you're sick of ugly, shaky suction cup mounts, and find the air vent phone mounts frustrating, this may very well be the mount for you.

This is the best phone mount I have bought with one caveat!
****I do love this phone mount but they only last about one year. I'm about to order my third one. The neck breaks at around the 10 or 12 month mark. Perhaps it's because we get very cold winters here, so yours might last longer. I keep buying them anyway because they are a great price.***** Love it! I have an iPhone 5S with a cover and it fits into it perfectly. So easy to install. But use two hands (instead of one hand like the guy on the Youtube video tried to do)! Don't forget to take the CD out before installation. Puts the phone at the perfect level to see maps or to see who is calling (if you have call display). Doesn't block anything important across my dash. I can still see the clock. The only button that I can't reach well is the CD button but I won't be using that anyway. I used to have one of those air vent holders and it kept coming out and falling on the floor of the car. The other problem with the vent one is that it blocks the vent! My phone was always boiling hot in the winter and that isn't good for the battery. In the summer, I was always boiling hot because the air conditioning couldn't reach me from that vent. This device allows you to turn the phone from portrait to landscape and it swivels across quite an arc. You can turn it to face your passenger and allow them to send a text or make a hand-dialled call for you. It's still early days of using it so the only caveat that I have so far, is that putting the phone into the cradle seems easier with two hands than one. However, I might just be overly worried about my particular phone case (which is soft on the sides) getting pulled back if I use one hand. If your case is hard on all corners and sides, it probably wouldn't be an issue.) ***Edit - have been using this for many weeks now and easily put the phone in and remove it with one hand using a "one side in and then stretch it open while popping the other side in" technique. *** The other thing is that the spring might get a little looser over time (it did) so that I can easily put the phone in with one hand. Given that, I like the fact that the spring is nice and tight. It makes it feel that the phone is very secure. Have had no problems so far with the mount feeling loose at all. Seems to be very secure and tight in the CD slot. Also, there doesn't seem to be any movement from the phone itself as I go over any bumps. See photos I've included to see the profile and close up images of the mount.

Overall a Great Product!
This Holder does the job just fine. I've noticed the name says "...for all i Phones and Android Devices" which I wouldn't say is completely true. I use it primarily for my Samsung S8 and an old iPhone 4 which I use just for music now. The S8 fits perfectly (even a case) however the concave slots are too small for my old iPhone with the case on. But, even though it doesn't fit into the slots, the mount still grips it fairly well and it hasn't fallen once. The only other issue I noticed is I find myself adjusting the neck quite a bit as it tends to slide down after a few bumps in the road. Overall i'm very happy with this product and think it's much better than other car mounts I've seen.

Works well, holds securely, love it!
After buying a new vehicle, I could not find a good spot to place my cell phone (aside from the passenger seat, which is often not an option). I checked out a number of the suction cup style mounts, but really wanted to avoid anything mounted on the windshield. After reading lots of reviews, I purchased the Koomus CD Slot Mount, hoping that it was halfway decent. After several weeks of use, I must say that I'm thrilled with the product! It holds the phone well, is easy to insert the phone with only one hand (after a bit of practice), and is padded nicely so it does not scratch the edges of the phone. It rotates very easily between portrait and landscape, and the bouncing mentioned by other reviewers is very minimal. I drive over some pretty rough roads in a truck-based SUV, and it has never dropped the phone or loosened itself from the CD slot.It is extremely simple to install. Just slide it in, following the procedure shown in the instructions.I have not tried it with a CD in the player, as I haven't used a CD player in several years. My wife saw mine, and immediately wanted one for her car.We now have 3 of these, and they are being used with the following phones: iPhone 6 Plus, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4. No problem securely holding any of them, with or without a case on the phone. Granted, we don't use bulky Otterbox cases, but it appears that the mount would not have any issue holding the added thickness.Vehicles they are being used in are a 2015 Toyota 4Runner, a 2014 Toyota Corolla, and a 2012 Acura MDX.In the 4Runner, it does obscure a bit of the factory navigation screen, but that doesn't bother me because I'd rather use Waze or Google Maps for nav.Bottom line, the mount is good enough that I took the time to write a review, which I rarely do. Very pleased when a product does the job with no fuss and simply works as intended.

Good product for the price.
I bought this several years ago and it has held up well. It's sturdy, it clamps well onto my Nexus 5, and it hasn't broken yet. For the price, it's pretty good. Some other reviewers have mentioned that this product damaged their CD / DVD player. I cannot comment on this since I never use my car's CD player, so I wouldn't know. All I can say is that it does a good job of holding up a cellphone, and is easy to install and use. The ball-and-socket joint offers three rotational degrees of freedom (yaw, pitch, and roll) so you can orient your phone into whatever orientation you like, including landscape or portrait orientations. It's stiff enough that it will hold its position and will not flop over. And it's quick and easy to open and close the spring-loaded jaws to insert or remove your phone.
