They do the job!
In the summer the biting flies are terrible and horses can actually come up lame from stomping. These are well made and keep the flies off. The reason I gave this a 4 instead of 5 stars is because unfortunately they are not indestructible, and really only last one season. My horse is pastured and so he wears them non-stop from late Spring thru September.

Very good material. Worth the price

Effective but chafe if used constantly.
These boots fit and fasten very well on an average-sized paint or quarter horse, and they WILL keep the flies off the lower legs completely. However, don’t plan to leave them on all the time, because they do rub sores after awhile. Plan to alternate with waterproof fly spray.

Great protection for the price
They stay up very well and hold their shape, the best of any fly boots I've seen. I like the color; however, it is rubbing off the plastic in places, leaving a white plastic. They are starting to get holes in them above the fetlocks, right where I assume, she is kicking herself and the nails on the shoes are cutting the plastic. Normal wear and tear that I'd expect. They are protecting her from reopening cuts on the insides of her front legs where she was kicking herself. I'd rather the boots than her legs get cut.

So far, so good.
Have been using these for a couple of months. They seem to be holding up well. They are lightweight and don’t seem to rub on our horse’s legs. Will definitely buy again.

Not Cashels best product
I love love love Cashel products, especially their feed bags and fly masks but fly boots just suck. My horse had hoof surgery in the fall and has special expensive shoes, and bad feet. I wanted to try fly boots to reduce stomping and try to help his foot and decrease unplanned shoe removing. Unfortunately fly boots, including these ones keep slipping down and do not stay in place. I thought I might have better lucky because he has oversized bell boots on to hold them in place but alas, they do not. I think it’s the invention, not cashel that is not good.

Buy the pink not orange I guess?
I purchased the pink set and it came with four boots, while this orange purchase was just two boots. Very disappointed. The pink ones seem to fit better for whatever reason.

They sag and cause rubs!
These were great for the first few days and held up well. However, they began to sag around the fetlock and ended up giving two of my horses nasty rubs! If your horses are out for less than 12 hours at a time they might be ok but I wouldn't trust them any longer than that.
