This book was recommended to me by an expat living in France for the last five years. I was at my wit's end, searching desperately for more detailed information on the French visa process, and I kept hitting a brick wall. I felt like an outsider trying to get into a secret society without the right handshake. Allison Grant Lounes has taken on a massive task and broken the visa process down into easily digestible bites. The book is thorough, clearly written, well-organized and utterly invaluable. It makes something that felt overwhelming -- moving to another country -- feel totally doable!

I've looked into going abroad in the past but always found myself getting turned around on the official websites for French Visas. This book is a great overview not only of the visa types available, but the whole process from gathering the first document through to nationalization. Definitely recommend this book for anyone considering a French visa application

There is so much information in this book for all the different French visas that are available. Allison Lounes has done a wonderful job of putting all this information in a concise and understandable format. Anyone who wants to move to France needs this book!

Allison did a great job covering all of the different types of French visas, their pros/cons, who they are suitable for, etc. This is definitely the place to start if you're planning a move to France!

This book provides a clear yet concise guide to the available avenues one can take when figuring out how to properly move to and live in France with the correct visa. This saves you a lot of time scouring the internet on options and actions to take. I went from thinking I knew what visa to apply for, to reading the book, to finding out there are other better ways that would fit what I truly want to do once in France.

Lots of great practical information; very useful in navigating the French visa morass. It would help if there were an index in future editions.

The first thing I noticed about this book is its size...it's larger than a standard paperback and comes in at over 500 pages!This means it covers every possibility, including current visa costs and the processes involved.I think this must be the most comprehensive guide available on this topic, and includes very useful and up-to-date information for UK nationals in these post-Brexit times.I would 100% recommend this book as a starting point for anyone thinking of making the move over the Channel.

Well set out and easy to find section needed. I'm hoping it will help me understand the process better than various other sources I have looked at.

Great summary of all visa types, with a good format of who is is for and comparisons of the pros and cons of each visa type. The section in each chapter which markets franceformation is a bit repetitive and could be summarised once at the start of the book.

My only regret is that I didn’t purchase Allison’s book sooner. My husband and I made our first move to France without this book but we made several costly mistakes along the way.
