In the Valley of the Shadow: The Story of David Jones and Jane McCrea

This is so bad I cannot find words to express my disappointment. I know the book is a novel, but the story is so far out as to be laughable. Whatever the author sought to accomplish with this writing, I cannot even guess. I mean really....a Christmas tree lit with candles in the 1770's??? As a history buff, and living in the area I am familiar with this topic. There is a nice bibliography at the end of the book, but I'm sure Mr. Burton never read any of them. The bibliography is the only thing of value in this book. Do not bother with this.....I kept reading on to see if it was a joke. Sadly, it wasn't.
