Q: Is this a good pan for frying chicken? What have you cooked in it?

You can cook in a wide variety of methods. Heat pan on medium for about a minute before adding liquid or food. This prevents sticking to pan bottom when cooking. Then you can raise temperature.

Q: I added salt in cold water and bolt it to clean this new pan. However, there are some pits which I cannot clean them. is that quality problem?

This is common with stainless steel pans. You should add the salt once the water is hot and stir to dissolve the salt in the water. Adding salt to cold water causes the salt to fall straight to the bottom of the pan without dissolving and causes the pitting.

The bottom is definitely thick, heat induction even. The pan is heavy.

Q: What is the size of base?

The outer diameter of the flat part of base is about 9.6 inches (24.5 cm). The inner diameter of the base is about 10.2 inches (26 cm).
