Necklaces Braided On the Kumihimo Disk

A rather short book but good content. I felt for the size of the book (which I bought because of the wonderful cover) there was too large a section on basics, I was expecting it to be a stage 2 book - but having said that the designs in it were good, with perhaps again a little too much attention to making/attaching focal beads.

Having recently taken up Kumihimo I was looking for a book with new ideas and this is it!

Great book, inspiring and works well on kindle

I purchased this book twice, once for me and the other for my sister, who is learning how to make kumihimo ropes. The directions are easy to follow and is great for beginners, but also great for those of us who have been making the ropes for a while.

I used this book as a guide for my first kumihimo braided necklace. It went quickly and easily using the book, plastic thread bobbins and a kumihimo foam disc. I felt like I was cheating, it was so easy. The book gives instructions for more complicated braids and some idea of what varying the thread colors will look like. That would be my only complaint if I had to give one. The colors are not that contrasting so the photos aren't as helpful as they could be. A minor issue though all considered. I am now hooked on kumihimo braiding and may eventually purchase a book on more complex projects, possibly from this author. In the meantime, this book is a great guide and has lots of helpful color photos.
