Goes well with tacos
The media could not be loaded. ย With a salsa made out of sweet potato I expected to taste the potato, but I was surprised by not tasting it at all. I could taste beans, corn and chipotle. We used it as a side for tacos and it tasted good. I selected the mild version of the Mexican salsa, and it the flavor is mild, not fiery. Two tablespoons is 25 calories. All sweetness comes from the sweet potato, no additional sugar was added.INGREDIENTS:Flame-Roasted Sweet Potato, Black Beans, Water, Corn, Lime Juice, Garlic, Salt, Ginger, Citric Acid, Chipotle, Cumin, CayenneThis salsa is provided by Yummy Yammy.Ali Julia review

Great salsa!
Very tasty (as are all the Yummy Yammy products) and healthy. You won't miss those other salsas that are full of fat and salt.

The pickiest taste-tester ever said, "I'd buy it again."
The media could not be loaded. I'm never quite sure how my taste-tester is going to react because he's quite picky to say the least. Everything has to be just so and can't have any off ingredients and natural or organic is preferable. Quite a change from the youngster who adored things like Hamburger Helper. Now that he's opting for healthy foods, he was very interested in tasting the Yummy Yammy salsas.I have three different kinds and getting me to tell me what he thought was like pulling teeth. One of the reasons was that he was going from jar to jar having himself a feast. He liked the concept of sweet potato salsa over tomato. Much better alternative than the tomato-based, specifically Paul Newman's. Obviously that's what he's been purchasing.Similar to the Tuscan Sweet Potato salsa, he claimed the Mexican had a slightly smoky taste. It's not a thick salsa so you'll have to stir it up before using. He's in to ~hot~, but this is a mild. Here in New England we tend to thrive on tasty, but bland foods. Several spoons later I knew that he liked it. Apart and aside from his comment about Newman and continued testing (he would have eaten a whole jar), he said one thing: "I'd buy it again." Enough said because that meant he loved them all. He had no favorite because he liked them all for different reasons.INGREDIENTS:Flame-Roasted Sweet Potato, Black Beans, Water, Corn, Lime Juice, Garlic, Salt, Ginger, Citric Acid, Chipotle, Cumin, CayenneYUMMY YAMMY: Sweet Potato Salsa, Tuscan ~ with Roasted Red Pepper, White Bean & Basil Sweet Potato Salsa, Moroccan ~ with Curry, Lentil & Kale Sweet Potato Salsa, Mexican, Medium ~ with Corn, Black Bean & Chipotle Sweet Potato Salsa, Mexican, Hot ~ with Black Bean, Corn & Chipotle Sweet Potato Salsa, Mexican, Mild ~ with Corn, Black Bean & Chipotle

A salsa that's good for you!
So let me start out with the unusual statement that this is actually a competitor of a brand I own....I mean, we are on the same shelf. Same stores. But to me, the more choices of good food, the more people there are eating them and so in the end, there is room for them all when they make people feel good. I don't sell a salsa anyway, but I do sell a dip so I stay abreast on the salsas too and I have been excited about the idea of this one since I first read about it.First of all, it has several flavor choices and they are all good for you. As in superfoods and antioxidants. But no one has to know that.Because, in the end, even your kids will love these. A touch of sweet from sweet potatoes. I love the idea of it being so rich in antioxidants. My passion is good foot that makes your body happy. They embrace that and so I embrace the brand and the flavor this has--which is deep in depth. As a Texan, I love salsas and since this one has a hint of sweetness, almost like the sweet and savory you'd get with a mango salsa, it's great to mix with fish if you are a fish eater, or even items of savory or tang, like something that might have feta or acidity. I added it to baked beans and rice for a smooth dish, then topped it with some smoked and pickled peppers...perfection!This brand will grow. Salsa. Superfood. Texan. Sweet. Savory. Mexican. YammySuper rich and creamy but vegan--not from cream. From the richness of the sweet potato.Salsa provided by Yummy Yammy

one of a kind salsa
Yummy Yammy is he only company I know of that makes salsa with no tomatoes and 100% pure roasted sweet potatoes as the salsa base. I really enjoyed the Mexican salsa (also I also tried the Moroccan salsa (has a kick) and the Tuscan salsa). I was blown away by the freshness and uniqueness of this salsa. The flavors were fresh, strong and bold. super tasty!Yummy Yammy Mexican salsa is made with chunky sweet potateos, corn, black beans and Mexican spices and has a very similar taste to tomato based salsas. Mexican Sweet Potato Salsa is great with tortilla chips and nachos, or adding to a wrap or burrito.I love that Yummy Yammy salsas are all natural, vegan, gluten free, and dairy free, and made with no artificial preservatives, colors, or flavors, far, sugar or sweeteners! one jar contains just 250 calories, not that you would eat the ENTIRE jar in one sitting :)Yummy Yammy salsa is refreshing, unique, made with wholesome ingredients, loaded with vitamin A, and just an overall great, and different type of salsa to add to your pantry.I received this product in exchange for an honest review
