Got this one for my boyfriend for his birthday. He always buys a different one. This one was on sale and had good reviews and was everything I had read online that I wanted in a good net. He took it out last weekend and was amazed at how light it was and still being well made. I dont think he'll ever go back to the old brand again

I got this 6 footer casting net because I am out of practice (ever since I moved to SC, I have not gone crabing like I used to do back home)...There was a time when casting a net was so easy for me and rewarding! I have had little sharks, eels, shrimps, crabs and even "careys" (an endangered species sea turtle which must be let go when they fall in your nets). Casting a net is not as easy as people think, it takes practice to achieve a full spread. So a 4ft or 6 ft one is the best in my opinion to start with. I practice in my yard before going to the beach just in case I find a spot to cast my net. I prefer the ones made of strings and real metal plumbs (but they are much heavier when wet). This one feels very light and is made of thin nylon threads (which do not absorbs water), so it's easier to handle. However, the plumbs are kind of big and like plastic (making it too bulky). I have had nylon ones like these, but with smaller metal weights, not this kind of plastic ones. I still can not wait to test this in real life (with one of these I caught 480 blue crabs in Humacao, PR in 1987, I spent about 14 hours (during the day was slow), some chicken tripes, and waited for the low tide at a river bank by the sea). I never had that type of luck ever again due to overfishing...

I didn’t know what to get my dad for his birthday this year. He loves to fish so I started looking into a casting net.I felt like the favorite daughter after seeing his reaction when he received it! He took the casting net out the next day and he loved it! Caught a ton of fish! My dad even mentioned the value for money is incredible, especially with the vented professional carrier bag it comes with. Great product with great quality. Great gift for dad!

I don’t write many of these reviews. We used this net to catch shrimp in the Halifax River in Florida and within 10 throws the horn came apart.It surprised me but what is worse we bought it in early July and it only has a 30 day guarantee. Shame on me……

Great casting net! My husband was super happy when he saw what I got him! Perfect gift for Father’s Day, birthday, Christmas. Especially if your husband is hard to buy for! Definitely recommend this cast net!
