King of the Shadow Fae (The Darkest Fae Book 1)

This book kept my attention all the way through. I Cannot wait for the next book. If you’re thinking about this book, you should definitely get it.

Ahhh this book was a perfection! I did not want it to end. I really hoped we would have had more of the story because it was too good to stop.

Loved the intricate world the author weaved! There’s a mystery that needs to be solved, a not full-fledged romance (yet), and lots of plot twists to keep you flipping the pages. Although there were not enough steamy scenes, this book is so well written that it’s okay. I don’t know if there will be another book after this. I hope there will be, because I’m interested in seeing more steamy scenes with Xar and Kieran.

Some people are complaining that it's too slow, but this is actually one of my favorite books. The book isn't just a bunch of sex scenes with a few pages of meaningless dialogue written in between just to work into the next sex scene. If that's what you want, this isn't it. This is a good mystery, with good well developed characters and a bunch of twists and turns that continue to surprise you as you read further, as well as a few spicy scenes sprinkled throughout the book. Amelia did a good with the spicy scenes, but this book is so much more. The FL is one of those strong/smart types and I feel that was portrayed well in the book. I've seen books where the FL was supposed to be smart, but every conclusion they came to was either completely obvious or an absolute shot-in-the-dark guess that just conveniently ended up being true. I'm glad that wasn't the case in this book and that the author did a very good job depicting the lead in a believable way. The ML was also well written. He seems to have many layers and I'm very excited to see them peel away as this series continues. He's a bloodthirsty savage, but also a gentleman. It's a nice mix I don't normally see this executed so well. Amelia did a good job merging the two sides into a character. The plot was great, the mystery engaging, and the characters are very swoon-worthy. If you just want smut, move along. But if you want to get absorbed in a book without being able to put it down, then this is the book for you.

This book sucked me in, chewed me up and spit me out. While I have come to expect it from Amelia Hutchins, I am surprised that another series has the possibility of becoming an obsession, after Fae Chronicles. Xari and Kieran our my newest favorites! I can't wait for the next installment!

This one grabs you and just throws you against the wall from the first line. Couldn’t put it down- literally fell asleep with it in my hand and started back when I woke up until I completed it- can’t wait for the next one- so many unexpected twist and turns… never seen the way this turned out! Loved it! My fave of all the series!

Amelia Hutchins does it again with King of the Shadow Fae (book 1). This book was phenomenal. There were so many twists and turns and just when you think you know what is going to happen, you are surprised! Emotional roller coaster that leaves you wanting more! I loved it!!!! Can’t wait for book two!!! Thank you Amelia for another epic book and new series!

Another great start to another series that keeps your mind entertained.I am not great at reviews but I loved it .Xariana a Guild Hunter who is Alpha all on her own and can kick ass is marked by an invisible enemy put through her paces .After watching her Father the Head of The Guild be Kidnapped by unforeseen enemy’s and blown away after and explosion .Comes into Contact with an unknown called Kieran who is slowly taking over the town for circumstances you find out during the story. They have a attraction towards each other as it looks but Xari is not having it at first even though he does things to make her girlie parts work lol .But as always twist and turns are what make a story and this 1 actually made me cry .She will be strong and can’t wait for the next book to see how the story will continue .even though I know it’s going to be a while as other books are to be released .Amelia your words your worlds your imagination hope it never ends .But make sure ya take time for you and ya Family .Thankyou for letting us escape into your worlds of words .

I have read all of Amelias books so in this review I’m going to get critical and list what I like about this book and what I don’t..here goes…. Good points:*refreshing interesting storyline* intriguing ,sexy and hot as hell male lead ( wouldn’t expect nothing less from author)*female lead strong and likeable and doesn’t drag on in her inner monologue.(always a plus)*page turning full of twists band turnsBad points:* slow burn no sexy times at all just very close but no cigar moments (disappointed as Amelias books are usually more drooling shall we say)* introduced too many secondary characters I get it’s first book world building but I kept loosing track of who’s who and by the time second book comes I will have to reread and probably still forget who everyone isAll in all I would say a good start but it will be a long time before we see book 2 unfortunately as the author does have a few other unfinished series so book turnaround is very slow (maybe too many projects all at once)

What a journey! I really enjoyed this slow burn fantasy book, and I can't wait for the next book in the series.There are so many twists and turns now. One thing though, is that the author's heroines are becoming predictable, and that's a slight down for me.I could see what Xari would do a mile away towards the end of the book. It's not super off-putting, but it is maybe something the author should consider.High predictability and heroine after heroine doing the same things to the point where you can point out several similarities, can be a negative thing, even if the book itself is good.Which it is, I really like this universe (which is the same as Bulletproof Damsel) and I'm looking forward to exploring it further.This is urban fantasy and therefore shorter and more slow burn than "epic" fantasy. But the book does have steam.It's moist with tention and we know at some point Kieran and Xari will have an explosive get together when he finally catches up with her! Hehhehee.

I love Amelia’s writing style. I love that her men are not the sappy in love type. I love that her women are strong and have to endure a journey of their own.This book is no different. I absolutely loved it.Xariana is a hunter. One of the best. She has to be on top of her game being the daughter of the leader. There is nothing she can not kill until now. He’s hunting her. He’s not gentle. He’s marked her. What/who is he.I can not recommend this book highly enough. I read then re read just to make sure I got everything. I love hate love Amelia’s men and I want to be the women in her stories.Can’t wait for the next instalment

Amelia Hutchins might not be the most popular author of this genre but has a quality in her writing that most "big names" envy. I have read most of her books and in all of them she consistently delivers a high quality of a story, not just smut. What I enjoy the most is the universes that she builds and how no story is the same as the previous one. In this one she's building another complicated universe with great characters. Well worth the read if you're into this genre. Looking forward to reading more of hers.
